]]>Grande confirmed the release of Eternal Sunshine Deluxe almost a year after the release of the original album, but she’s been plotting this project for quite some time. She previously told Variety that the deluxe version was “in the can”, but she wanted to focus on the Wicked promo before sharing it with the world.
“I’m out there so much right now. I want to let my children miss me for two seconds. I’m excited to surprise them with it at some point, but I’m still mulling over the timing in my head. It’s not the end of ‘Peaches’ just yet, but she’s going in the closet for a minute,” explained Grande.
Eternal Sunshine Deluxe: Brighter Days Ahead will be released on March 28, and it will feature six new songs. The original album came out last March, and it produced chart-topping singles “Yes, And?” and “We Can’t Be Friends (Wait for Your Love)”, helping Grande make history as the female artist with the most number-one debuts in the US.

]]>No musical this year created more buzz than Wicked, and it was only fitting for this film to get some time in the spotlight at the Oscars. Its stars Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande opened the show with an epic medley that included “Over the Rainbow”, “Home”, and “Defying Gravity”, delivering one of the night’s most memorable moments.
The late composer Quincy Jones was one of the recipients of this year’s Academy Honorary Awards, and the Oscars found a special way to celebrate his legacy. Queen Latifah was in charge of delivering the tribute to Jones, which included the song “Ease on Down the Road” from the hit Broadway musical The Wiz.
James Bond tribute honoring the producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson was also a part of this year’s Oscars. Pop stars Lisa, Doja Cat, and Raye performed some of the hit songs from this beloved action franchise, including “Live and Let Die”, “Diamonds are Forever”, and “Skyfall”, while The Substance star Margaret Qualley danced in the background.

]]>Grande and Erivo recently co-starred in the hit musical Wicked and both received Oscar nominations for their respective performances. They’ll reportedly open the ceremony with a medley of the biggest hits from this film, but this rumor hasn’t been officially confirmed by the Academy.
Lisa, Doja Cat, and Raye, who recently collaborated on the song “Born Again” from Lisa’s debut solo album Alter Ego, will also perform at the Oscars. The hip-hop legend Queen Latifah will be a part of the show, which will feature “showstopping performances celebrating the filmmaking community and some of its legends.”
“El Mal” and “Mi Camino” from Emilia Pérez, “The Journey” from The Six Triple Eight, ”Like a Bird” from Sing Sing, and “Never Too Late” from Elton John: Never Too Late are in the running for the best original song, but they won’t be performed during the show, as a response to the Los Angeles wildfires that devastated California last month.
The 2025 Academy Awards will take place on March 2 at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, with Conan O’Brien hosting the show.

]]>Holiday songs occupy nine out of ten spots in the top ten on the Hot 100 chart this week, with “Die with a Smile” by Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars being the only exception. Mariah Carey returned to No. 1 with “All I Want for Christmas Is You” for its 17th week on top, which set a new record for the longest-running chart-topping single of her career.
This week also marked the arrival of two modern holiday hits to the top ten on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Ariana Grande hit No. 9 with “Santa Tell Me”, over a decade after it was released as a bonus track on her holiday EP Christmas Kisses. She’s followed by Kelly Clarkson, who made it to No. 10 with “Underneath the Tree”, her first song to soar this high since “Piece by Piece” hit No. 8 in 2016.
These are the only holiday songs released during the 21st century to enter the top ten on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The record for the most recently released seasonal song to reach the top ten had previously been held by Kenny G’s take on “Auld Lang Syne,” released in 1999.

]]>Grande’s fans were over the moon when a rumor about her potential 2025 tour started making the rounds online. Her label was quick to dismiss it, saying, “There are no plans for a tour next year, but Ariana remains deeply appreciative of her fans and all the continued love, support and excitement.”
Grande herself addresses the speculations during an interview at the Golden Globes First-Time Nominees luncheon and explains why touring isn’t her priority at this point in time.
“I feel so grateful to the acting, and I think my fans know that music and being on stage will always be a part of my life, but I don’t see it coming anytime soon. I think the next few years, hopefully, we’ll be exploring different forms of art, and I think acting is feeling like home right now,” she told Variety.
Grande made her acting comeback with the role of Glinda in Wicked, which earned her a Golden Globe nomination, and she’ll return for its sequel Wicked: For Good. Earlier this year, she also released her seventh studio album Eternal Sunshine, which produced chart-topping singles “Yes, And?” and “We Can’t Be Friends (Wait for Your Love)” and earned three Grammy nominations.
