]]>In an official statement announcing their upcoming tour, Aerosmith said “it’s not goodbye, it’s peace out”, and teased the best show of their lives.
“Fans will see one of the most significant American rock bands in history one last time during this not-to-be-missed final tour. Every night will celebrate the five decades of Aerosmith’s groundbreaking hits as they celebrate 50 years as America’s greatest rock band,” reads the band’s official statement.
Peace Out Tour will kick off on September 2 at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, PA, and it will feature a total of 40 dates. Aerosmith will play in their hometown of Boston on New Year’s Eve, before bringing the tour to an end on January 26, 2024, at Montreal’s Bell Centre.
The band’s longtime drummer Joey Kramer will miss the tour “to focus his full attention on his family and health.” Drummer John Douglas is set to replace him, while The Black Crowes are expected to join Aerosmith as a supporting act.

]]>According to Perry, this happened at the time when Tyler served as a judge on American Idol (2011-2012) and had numerous other side projects. The group felt like he isn’t focused on Aerosmith enough, so they started looking elsewhere.
At the time, it was reported that Lenny Krawitz, Paul Rodgers, and late Chris Cornell were among those considered for Tyler’s replacement. While Perry didn’t go into details about the specific names, he did admit that Haggar was in the mix.
“I’m not sure how it got out there, but Sam I know as a really mellow guy, easy to get along with. And he definitely had the pipes,” said Perry.
However, the band never went through with their plan as they rekindled their relationship with Tyler and continued with the original lineup.
“Things went the way they did, everybody got out of the system what they wanted to, and then we slowly glued back together,” Perry added.

Interestingly, Sammy Haggar spoke about the same topic in his own Ultimate Classic Rock interview that was published last month. According to Haggar’s version of the events, he was offered to try out for the gig and was “tempted” to do it. However, he decided to reject the opportunity as he didn’t want to be “The Replacement Guy,” alluding to the fact that he previously replaced David Lee Roth as Van Halen’s vocalist.
“I woke up on the beach and said, ‘You know what? I can’t do this.’ So that was it,” he concluded.

Lizzo’s involvement was expected since she topped the list of nominations with a total of eight nods. The same goes for Billie Eilish, who closely followed with six nominations. Both artists are first-time Grammy nominees and they’ll go head to head in several major categories, including record, album, and song of the year.

]]>Roxodus Music Festival was scheduled to take place between July 11th and July 14th near the Edenvale Airport in Ontario, Canada. Aerosmith, Kid Rock, Nickelback, and Lynyrd Skynyrd were amongst the acts scheduled to perform at the event.
The organizers of the festival released a statement explaining they were not able to secure the venue at Edenvale Airport due to the “tremendous rainy weather” and added they’ll take time to “nurture it into a premier landmark in Ontario.”
“It is with a heavy heart that we announce the cancellation of the Roxodus Music Festival this year. Our team has worked tirelessly to find a solution in which the show can go on but unfortunately, we could not make it happen this year,” reads the official statement.

]]>The unveiling of Aerosmith’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame will take place on February 14th in front of Musicians Institute at 6752 Hollywood Boulevard. The ceremony will be streamed live on the HWOF’s official website.
“Finally! We have been waiting a long time to honor Aerosmith with their star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame,” – said producer of the Hollywood Walk of Fame Ana Martinez. “Aerosmith is one of the greatest rock bands in the world and we expect many fans will be ‘Crazy’ excited to see them honored!”
After toying with the idea of doing their farewell tour, Aerosmith decided to continue rocking indefinitely and even hinted at the possibility of recording their sixteenth studio album in the near future. Until then, the band will take on a Las Vegas residency, which will see them playing 18 shows in April, June and July 2019 at the MGM Grand’s Park Theater.
