The post Tiesto to Perform at Super Bowl LVIII as In-Game DJ appeared first on Hot Pop Today.
]]>Tiesto will serve as “the first in-game superstar DJ” for the upcoming Super Bowl. He will do a set during warm-ups but also remain behind his DJ setup and spin records during in-game breaks.
“I’m excited to be a part of the Super Bowl LVIII,” Tiesto said in a statement. “And it’s even more incredible that it’s in my favorite place – Las Vegas. Thank you to the NFL for having me. I cannot wait to party with you all at the big game!”
Tiesto isn’t the first DJ to perform at the Super Bowl events. In prior years, the likes of DJ Khaled, DJ Snake, D-Nice, and Zedd all entertained the fans before the start of the game. However, Tiësto will be the first DJ to keep on playing during the game.
Super Bowl LVIII will take place at Las Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium, the home of the Las Vegas Raiders. The game is scheduled for 11 February.
Tiesto released his most recent album, Drive, in April 2023. The record, which featured guest appearances from Ava Max, Black Eyed Peas, and Charli XCX, among others, peaked at No. 87 on the US Billboard 200 charts.

]]>Conceived by British company Layered Reality, Elvis Evolution is expected to have its debut at some point in November. After the initial run, the show will embark on a world tour that will include stops in Las Vegas, Berlin, and Tokyo.
According to the press release shared by Layered Reality, the show will be based on “musician’s personal photos and home-video footage” and feature a life-size digital version of Presley performing his biggest hits. It will be followed by an after-party that will take place in an Elvis Presley-themed restaurant and bar and include live performances.
“The show peaks with a concert experience that will recreate the seismic impact of seeing Elvis live for a whole new generation of fans, blurring the lines between reality and fantasy,” Layered Reality adds. “Through AI and groundbreaking tech you’ll be able to witness iconic Elvis performances as if you were really there, and celebrate defining moments in Elvis Presley’s extraordinary life and career.”
Elvis Presley isn’t the first music legend to return to the stage as a hologram. In the past, music icons like Tupac Shakur, Roy Orbison, and Whitney Houston all received a hologram treatment. Currently, a hugely successful ABBA Voyage virtual concert residency, featuring digital versions of Swedish pop legends ABBA, is underway at London’s Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

]]>Swedish singer Loreen won this year’s Eurovision, meaning that Sweden will host the competition next year. 2024 will be the 50th anniversary since ABBA won Eurovision themselves with the hit track “Waterloo,” sparking rumors that the group might use the opportunity to take the stage together once again.
When asked about the rumors during an appearance on BBC Newsnight, Andersson made sure to leave no room for doubt.
“I don’t want to, and if I don’t want to, they won’t go. It’s the same for all four of us – someone says ‘no,’ it’s a no,” said Andersson.
Ulvaeus said he shares Andersson’s opinion.
“We can celebrate 50 years of ABBA without us being on stage,” Ulvaeus added.
ABBA had its last show on December 11, 1982. Since then, there have been many attempts to tempt the group to perform live again, including a reported $1 billion offer, but ABBA’s members showed no interest in doing that.
Despite retiring from live performances, ABBA released an album in 2021 titled Voyage. The group also launched a project called ABBA Voyage that sees virtual avatars of the group members performing their hits.

]]>Fyre Festival’s disgraced founder Billy McFarland announced earlier this week that he secured the funding for Fyre Festival 2.0 while also confirming that a Broadway musical based on the original event is in the works again. McFarland shared the news in a video posted on his TikTok.
McFarland later confirmed his plans in an interview with YouTuber Adam Glyn, saying that the Fyre Festival 2.0 is going to take place on an island as well, but not in the Bahamas. He added that there is a significant interest from music acts to take place in the event.
The original Fyre Festival was billed as a two-weekend luxury experience for the festival goers and was supposed to include a star-studded lineup of acts like Pusha T, Tyga, Blink-182, Major Lazer, Disclosure, and Migos, among others. The event, co-founded by rapper Ja Rule, was heavily promoted by social media influencers like Kendall Jenner and Bella Hadid.
However, Fyre Festival turned into a disaster on its first weekend due to issues with security, food, and accommodation, among others. The majority of the top-billed music artists pulled out as a result, causing the event to be canceled.
In the aftermath, McFarland was sentenced to six years in prison and was ordered to forfeit $26 million. The Fyre Festival also inspired several documentaries, including Netflix’s Fyre: The Greatest Party That Never Happened.
