]]>In a recent chat with Collider, Cuomo shared that the band intends to re-release the album in an “amazing deluxe package” that will contain additional material, most likely demos and B-sides. Also, Weezer will do an “epic tour” so the fans can hear their Blue Album favorites in person.
“We are going to give it its due respect and come out with a really amazing deluxe package with a bunch of additional material, and of course, we’ve gotta do some kind of epic tour,” Cuomo revealed.
Cuomo didn’t offer any further details but hinted that the fans should expect Blue Album anniversary shows following their joint tour with Smashing Pumpkins across the UK in June.
Blue Album came out in 1994, featuring hit songs like “Undone – The Sweater Song”, “Buddy Holly”, and “Say It Ain’t So”. The record was met with critical acclaim and was later made part of Rolling Stone’s “500 Greatest Albums of All Time” list while remaining the band’s best-selling album to date.
Weezer’s most recent studio effort was Van Weezer in 2021.

]]>Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) is the week’s most talked-about new album, and it gave us several new “from the vault” songs. Swift collaborated with the likes of Fall Out Boy and Paramore’s Hayley Williams, but “I Can See You” stands out as the album’s most exciting new release.
No album this week created as much buzz as the re-recorded version of Speak Now, but not for the lack of trying. PJ Harvey, Rauw Alejandro, and Anohni and the Johnsons also dropped some new music, so stick around to find out which of their new songs made it to our list.
K-Pop artists are continuing to have a moment on the global scene. Tomorrow X Together tapped Jonas Brothers for their latest collaboration “Do It Like That”, while girl group NewJeans made waves with their new single “Super Shy”. Fifty Fifty’s “Barbie Dreams” is also set to become their next big hit.
Our list also includes new music from Lil Baby, Dominic Fike, and Weezer, so check it out and see if your favorite new tracks made the cut.

]]>This may seem like a strange marketing strategy, but there’s actually a perfectly reasonable explanation – this song will be featured in indie movie Spell, which is set to arrive in select theaters and on-demand services on November 19th.
This film about an illustrator who goes on a soul-searching journey in Iceland after the sudden death of his fiancée is a feature debut of Brendan Walter, who was in charge of directing Weezer’s music videos for “Africa” and “Feels Like Summer”.
Spell stars Brendan Walter, who also appears in the music video for “California Snow” alongside Adam DeVine. They play an eccentric therapist and his confused patient, who can be seen lip-syncing to the lyrics of this catchy track.
“California Snow” was featured on band’s last album Weezer (Black Album), which came out this spring, but their next record Van Weezer is already set to be released on May 15th, 2020.

[…] We talked about how we weren’t really wanting to do stadiums and do something that was like throwback to Monsters of Rock Tour. There was, of course, Fall Out Boy and Weezer and now we’re stoked.”
Pete Wentz of Fall Out Boy added his own perspective: “To me, I remember, in the 90s, there was this one summer, and Guns and Roses, Metallica went on the stadium tour and my parents didn’t let me go to it. You want to recreate that memory.”
Hints about the joint tour were popping up on social media for the last several weeks, with members of the bands tagging each other with cryptic messages, a mysterious HellaMegaTour.com site and even mislabeled merchandise being sent out to fans.
To celebrate the announcement going official, all three bands have released new songs. All signs are pointing to 2020’s Hella Mega Tour being an event no pop-punker would want to miss!

]]>The new track is called “Two Broken Hearts” but don’t be fooled into thinking it’s a melancholy break-up song. It’s just about the most upbeat, happy-go-lucky song we’ve heard all month and it’s December… i.e. the month of cheesy Christmas songs and festive spirit.
Accompanying the track is a rather odd albeit delightfully quirky music video. Rivers’ Bitmoji avatar is serenaded by his love interest on a Gondola in Venice, shortly after the pair of them fly around on balloons across the generic 2000s desktop background. The rest of the video is filled with some of 2018’s best memes, including a clip of Elon Musk smoking up on Joe Rogan’s podcast.
You can watch the weirdly wonderful offering from Rivers Cuomo below:
The track is a nice interlude before the release of Weezer’s upcoming The Black Album which will be released on March 1, 2019.
