]]>2024 has been a pretty epic year for Kendrick Lamar, and just when we thought we’d seen it all – he found a way to impress us again. The rapper’s surprise album GNX hit the shelves this Friday with no prior notice and delivered 12 epic new tracks, with “Luther” emerging as an early favorite.
Most other albums released this Friday were largely overshadowed by Lamar’s latest, but a few still managed to catch our eye. Father John Misty impressed us with “Mental Health” from Mahashmashana, while Michael Kiwanuka deserves a shout-out for “One and Only” from Small Changes.
This week has also been pretty great for Tyla, who’s been on fire this fall. After stirring the commotion with her recent music video for “Push 2 Start”, she surprised us with her new ballad “Tears”, which she performed during the most recent Coke Studio Session.
Check out the rest of our list of the best new songs of the week to discover new music by Wizkid, Omar Apollo, Coi Leray, Three Days Grace, and JoJo.

]]>In a pretty slow week for new music releases, Tyla managed to make quite a splash with her latest singles. The young South African singer gave us another sensual and empowering single with “Push 2 Start”, which created more buzz than any other song released this week.
When it comes to new albums and EPs released this Friday, rising star Myles Smith impressed us with “Nice To Meet You” from A Minute… A$AP Ferg dropped the self-titled record Darold, which produced several pretty great collaborations, including “French Tips” ft. Coco Jones.
We’ve also seen several artists return with a double single this week. Zach Bryan dropped “High Road” and “This World’s A Giant” on the same day, while Jorja Smith released “Loving You” ft. Maverick Sabre and “Don’t Let Me Go”.
Check out the rest of our list for this week to discover new music by Griff, Julia Michaels, Celeste, Perrie, and Alice Phoebe Lou.

It’s been a great week for new album releases overall. Jelly Roll made it to our list with “Winning Streak” from Beautifully Broken, while Samara Joy made the cut with “Reincarnation Of A Lovebird” from Portrait. Several songs on our list were also taken from deluxe versions of hit albums, including Coldplay’s “The Karate Kid” and Tyla’s “Push 2 Start”.
Many artists have also teased their upcoming album with amazing new songs this week. Halsey is teasing the release of The Great Impersonator by dressing up as a different music icon every day, and she added more fuel to the fire with the release of “I Never Loved You”. The Cure also set the stage for their upcoming album Songs of a Lost World with a new song “A Fragile Thing”.

]]>The post Tyla Drops “Jump” Music Video Featuring Gunna & Skillibeng appeared first on Hot Pop Today.
]]>Directed by Nabil, the music video for “Jump” is a love letter to Tyla’s home country of South Africa. It was filmed on the streets of Johannesburg, and it sees the singer revisiting her old stomping grounds, while changing several elaborate outfits and showing off her dance moves throughout the video.
Tyla previously revealed she wanted to tap into a different vibe with this song, and she found the perfect partner in crime in Gunna, who helped her take “Jump” to the next level.
“I just felt like a rapper would take it further into the world that I really wanted it to be in. So after thinking, Gunna literally was the perfect choice for me, not only because he’s great but because he’s shown interest multiple times [in] Afrobeats and the love for the culture,” she told Okay Africa.
“Jump” was released as the fourth single from her self-titled debut album Tyla, which also produced songs “Water”, “Truth or Dare”, and “Art”.

]]>Directed by NABIL, who previously collaborated with the likes of Kendrick Lamar and Frank Ocean, the video of “Truth or Dare” serves some major 2000s vibes. It sees Tyla going back and forth with her ex before chasing each other on the open road, only for the singer to steal his car key and leave him all alone in the rain.
“Truth or Dare” was released as the second single from Tyla’s upcoming debut album, following the success of her global hit “Water”. It initially hit the shelves on December 1, with new songs “Butterflies” and “On and On”, before being promoted as a single.
Tyla’s debut album will be released on March 22, and there’s a reason why she decided to keep it self-titled.
“For now, my introduction to the world, I just wanted to be clean, Tyla. I want people to get to know my name and get to know my sound because my first project is going to be Tyla in music form. So, I felt like self-titled would’ve been the best way to go,” she told Apple Music’s Zane Lowe.

Baby Keem found huge success through his collaborations with Kendrick Lamar and even won a Grammy for their work on “Family Ties”. We’re expecting him to make an even bigger impact with his solo music following the release of his upcoming album Child With Wolves.
Most hip-hop fans are familiar with GloRilla, but she’s yet to reach mainstream popularity. She’s still plotting the release of her debut studio album, and we’re expecting her to really blow up in 2024.
The British indie band The Last Dinner Party are set as the recipients of the rising star awards at the BRIT Awards, and their debut album Prelude to Ecstasy will finally arrive next month.
Reneé Rapp’s debut album Snow Angel came out this past summer, but it didn’t make quite an impact on the charts. We’re expecting her music to find a larger audience after she reintroduces herself to the world as Regina George in Mean Girls: The Musical.
