]]>Turns out it didn’t take a lot of convincing, since they all happen to be close friends, and when Osbourne asked them to be on his next record, they wanted to jump right in.
“Slash is a dear friend of mine, as is Elton. When I was writing ‘Ordinary Man,’ it reminded me of an old Elton song and I said to Sharon, ‘I wonder if he would sing on it?’ We asked and lo and behold, he agreed and sings and plays piano on the song,” said the Black Sabbath singer.
Osbourne’s new album Ordinary Man will be his first solo record in ten years, and it’s scheduled to come out on February 21st. A single of the same name features an appearance from Elton John, and it was released on Friday.

]]>This is not the first time the band, which also includes rappers Chuck D and B-Real, is performing in this fashion in remembrance of their late band members who took his own life in 2017. The band invited Serj Tankian of System of a Down to the stage at Sonic Temple Music + Arts Festival earlier this year to play Like a stone.
“If you know the words, sing along, because you’re his voice now,” Morello told the crowd before kicking off the song. “If you don’t know the words, just rock the f**k out in his memory.”
Later Morello addressed the concert on Instagram comparing the concert to one made by Rage Against the Machine, which according to him had a very memorable crowd. “Tonight’s Prophets of Rage crowd might have topped it. The crazy bonfires, the militant comrades, the stunning aftershow view and the emotional Chris Cornell ‘Cochise’ tribute with spotlight on empty mic were highlights for me.”

]]>Bellamy has described Morello as a “huge inspiration” and invited him to join Muse on their Simulation Theory world tour. As a way of saying thanks, the Muse frontman had a custom ax built for the guitar icon. The guitar is dark blue and has “Power To The People” engraved on the front.
Bellamy shared a photo of Morello with his new guitar on Instagram and wrote: “[Tom Morello] has been a huge inspiration to me growing up, a guitar legend. Proud to be able to give him a guitar I had made inspired by his playing and his message. Thanks for joining us on this UK tour, it’s been a blast! #powertothepeople.”

Yeats, Jimi Hendrix and terrified Ultra fans, this latest salvo of ‘Shred Step’ just erupted from the ‘Atlas Underground.’” (Late last year, Morello released a new album titled The Atlas Underground, though “Can’t Stop the Bleeding” was not featured on it.”

Tom Morello released The Atlas Underground in October 2018 and met with positive reviews from the critics and reached No. 122 at US Billboard 200 charts. The album featured numerous guests and collaborators including Knife Party, Bassnectar, Big Boi, Killer Mike, Portugal. The Man, Whethan, Vic Mensa, and many others.
Morello will soon embark on a tour in support of the record which will include 14 North American dates in May. He will also play live shows in the UK and Europe this summer.

]]>For this project, Morello recruited an all-star bunch of rappers and producers including Big Boi, RZA, Killer Mike, Steve Aoki and Bassnectar. Also set to make an appearance on The Atlas Underground are Portugal. the Man, Whethan, GZA, Gary Clark Jr., K. Flay, Pretty Lights, Marcus Mumford, Tim McIlrath, Carl Restivo, Nico Stadi, Leikeli47, and Herobust.
Alongside the announcement, the 54-year-old musician also revealed a trailer for the record alongside one of the songs, “We Don’t Need You” featuring Vic Mensa.
“I’ve been devoted both musically and as an activist to fighting injustice at every turn,” said Morello in a statement. “Amid this heightened sense of impending doom, it’s now time to rally the troops in a last-ditch effort to save the planet, and our artistic souls. By challenging the boundaries of what music is and has sounded like before, you can open peoples’ eyes to changing the status quo in society.”
