The Smashing Pumpkins said goodbye to their longtime guitarist, Jeff Schroeder, back in October. At the time, Schroeder said he was leaving the band to “make some space to explore a slightly different path.” Schroeder has been with the group since 2007 and is credited on five albums.
The Smashing Pumpkins released their twelfth studio album, Atum: A Rock Opera in Three Acts, between November 2022 and May 2023. The record consisted of three installments, with each installment containing 11 songs.
The ad for a new guitarist might have something to do with the group’s expansive touring plans for 2024. The Smashing Pumpkins will first team up with Weezer for a tour of the UK and Europe in the summer before embarking on a journey across the United States to support Green Day.

]]>The Smashing Pumpkins drummer Jimmy Chamberlin recently set down with SiriusFX to discuss the band’s plans for the future and shared many exciting news. He revealed that he worked on 80 new songs alongside vocalist Billy Corgan throughout the pandemic because they had more free time on their hands.
“You’re always either on tour, you’re doing stuff like [promo]. You’re being pulled in a million different directions. We figured out that could be the only point in time where we have a year or even two years to just simply create music without any logistic constraints on the process,” he explained.
Chamberlin revealed they’ve been working on a new Christmas record, in addition to recording a psychedelic album that they had on a back burner for a while but never got to do.
The Smashing Pumpkins’ latest album Atum: A Rock Opera in Three Acts was also recorded during the pandemic. They divided it into three parts, and the latest hit the shelves on May 5.

If pop music doesn’t do it for you, and you prefer a stronger sound, our list won’t leave you disappointed. We also made sure to include new releases by several rock and metal bands, including Bring Me the Horizon and Greta Van Fleet, in addition to The Hives’ comeback song “Bogus Operandi”.
You’ll also find everything from EDM bangers to hip-hop collaborations on our list, so stick around and discover new songs by Marshmello, NBA Youngboy, Lil Baby, and many more.
