Antonoff’s own band Bleachers will also appear on the soundtrack, and they’re currently gearing up for the release of their fourth self-titled studio album, set to hit the shelves on March 8.

]]>Healy addressed the audience while performing at the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, California, and revealed they’re not going to do live shows for a while after concluding their current tour.
“We love coming to this place and playing for you guys whenever we have the chance, and it’s wonderful you’re all here. After this tour we will be going on an indefinite hiatus of shows so it’s wonderful to have you guys with us tonight,” said Healy.
The British indie pop band kicked off Still… At Their Very Best tour earlier this month, in support of their album Being Funny in a Foreign Language from last year. Their touring schedule is pretty grueling, and they’re expected to do 33 shows across North America this fall, before heading to Europe for a run of 27 dates in February and March next year.
The 1975’s current tour marks the follow-up to their At Their Very Best tour, and it’s meant to chronicle their growth as a band over the course of the past decade.

]]>“Happiness” serves as the second single from the group’s upcoming studio album Being Funny in a Foreign Language, set to be released on October 14. It was preceded by the lead single “Part of the Band” in early July.
Frontman Matty Healy discussed this single with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe and said that the whole thing came together organically and with as little technology as possible.
“It came through like jamming, and we haven’t done that in like years. So we just wanted this record to be really like a captured moment and not be too constructed and even produced that much. We did it in like a day or so, and it’s us having fun,” explained Healy.
In addition to dropping a new single, the 1975 also announced they’ll embark on the “At Their Very Best” tour across North America in November. The tour will kick off with a performance at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, CT and they’re expected to stay on the road until December 17 and finish things up with a concert at Pittsburgh’s UPMC Events Center.

They started teasing it with a series of billboards across London, and decided to take a similar approach with the lead single “Part of the Band”.
Before officially sharing this song with the world, its lyrics were revealed through a series of black and white billboards—starting with “She was part of the air force / I was part of the band.” This will be one of 11 songs featured on Being Funny in a Foreign Language, and the track listing was revealed to fans through postcards, together with the album title.
“The Part of the Band” was produced by Jack Antonoff, and it features Michelle Zauner of Japanese Breakfast. Matty Healy revealed it arose when he tried to write a bridge for the song “New York”, which he performed while supporting Phoebe Bridgers in 2021.

]]>This announcement comes shortly after cryptic posters featuring frontman Matty Healy started popping up across London. They hinted at the band’s return on July 7, and the band finally confirmed they’re working on some new music by sharing a social media post captioned with the words, “Your new album. Your new era. Your old friends. The 1975.”
This announcement doesn’t come as a shocker for the band’s die-hard fans. In a statement canceling their “Notes On A Conditional Form” tour last year due to the pandemic restrictions, the band said they’re currently making a new album and looking forward to seeing their fans at their shows as soon as it’s safe to do so.
The band’s last album Notes on a Conditional Form came out in 2020 and became their fourth record to top the charts in the UK, in addition to making it to the top five in the US. Following its release, the band collaborated with Charli XCX on the song “Spinning”.
