Ariana Grande spent weeks teasing new video for her  hit single “Thank U, Next,” but it was 100% worth the hype. The Rom-com inspired video is finally here and something tells us the internet won’t stop buzzing about it for the next few weeks.

If you haven’t spent the last month living under the rock, you probably know Grande’s new video is homage to her favorite movies from the early 2000s. Series of photos she posted on Instagram made it clear Thank U, Next will reference several cult rom-coms, including Mean Girls, Legally Blonde, Bring It On and 13 Going on 30.

It was a blast watching Ariana Grande dressed as some of amazing characters from our youth, and she recreated dozens of iconic scenes from these flicks in her video. Some of the actors who starred in the original movies, including Jonathan Bennett and Jennifer Coolidge, even agreed to make a cameo in this epic visual!

“Thank U, Next” broke YouTube’s premiere record, since 829.000 simultaneous viewers tuned in as soon as it dropped online. We’re pretty sure this is not the last record it breaks since it’s an absolute must-watch we’ll be talking about for a long time.

Ariana Grande’s chart-topping song “Thank U, Next” has been stuck in our heads for weeks. The members of indie pop band The 1975 apparently feel the same way, and they just dropped an amazing cover of this empowering break-up anthem.

The English quartet recently made a stop at BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge to promote their third studio album A Brief Inquiry into Online Relationships. Instead of simply performing a few songs from their latest record, the guys of The 1975 put aside a couple of minutes to pay homage to Ari.

“Grande is the main protagonist… in most people’s lives. She’s had a right old tough time and I like her a lot, and she’s got a great voice. And I don’t. So I’m gonna sing one of her songs,” said band’s frontman Matty Healy before delivering an amazing cover of “Thank U, Next.”

The 1975 version of the hit song is the perfect reflection of their funky sound, but it also features several gospel singers who provided backup vocals during the band’s Live Lounge performance. Grande seems to be in love with their cover of Thank U, Next just like the rest of us, and she even shared it on her Twitter.

Since Ariana Grande released her break-up anthem “Thank U, Next,” we’ve all been buzzing for the release of the music video which will accompany it. The song is empowering and positive, making it the perfect break-up song if you’re finally ready to leave the wallowing stage and re-enter the dating world.

The music video will spoof classic rom-coms from the 2000s, including 13 Going on 30, Legally Blonde, Bring It On and most importantly, Mean Girls. The singer has shared pictures of herself dressed as Regina George alongside the mean girl’s honey, Aaron Samuels. Even better, she has convinced Jonathan Bennett, who played the heartthrob in the movie to play him.

Jonathon shared a picture on Twitter of the two on set with the caption “Aaron <3 Regina”. Another was captioned with the Mean Girls quote: “You’re like really pretty.”

We literally cannot wait any longer for this music video to drop.

Ariana Grande’s brother is undeniably proud of the star for creating a big hit with such a “powerful” message.

Ariana’s latest single “Thank U, Next” is not your typical shout out from a pop-star to her exes. Instead of taking the opportunity to slam her past boyfriends and use the song as an ego boost to boast about how much better off she is without them, Ariana has done the opposite.

The song references her ex-partners but celebrates their positive traits. She says about the recently deceased Mac Miller: “Wish I could say thank you to Malcolm / ’cause he was an angel” and declares that she is “so f*****g grateful for my ex”.

We’re not the only ones who admire the pop sensation’s attitude towards love and loss. Her brother, Frankie Grande, has publicly expressed his pride hearing the track.

“I am unbelievably proud of my sister,” the other Grande proudly told E! News. “This project that she has been working on, it’s from the heart. If you listen to the lyrics… I sobbed and I cried the first time she played it for me.

He later added: “We are happy that she is happy, and the message is just so powerful. It’s helping other people, too. Like, she’s helping other people get through difficult times and difficult breakups. I think that that’s really the best part about this whole thing: being able to help another person.”
