]]>Titled Mass Manipulation, the record will have 17 new songs and is scheduled for release on May 17 through Rootfire Cooperative/Wiseman Doctrine. It will be the band’s 12th studio album and a follow up to 2004’s African Holocaust.
Besides announcing the new album, Steel Pulse also presented a new song “Cry Cry Blood.” Hear it below.
Steel Pulse formed in 1975 in Birmingham, England. The band quickly gained a loyal fan following and became an internationally recognizable act. Their 6th studio album, 1986’s Babylon the Bandit, won Grammy Award for Best Reggae Album and made them the first non-Jamaican act to win this honor.
The band underwent numerous personnel changes over the years, with David Hinds being the only founding member in the current lineup.
