]]>A vinyl version is being released by WaxWork Records and it’s already available for purchase. We’re really impressed by the visual presentation of this record, which was inspired by some of the movie’s most haunting symbols that you’d instantly recognize if you’re a true fan of Us.
Vinyl or not, the soundtrack for this movie is truly epic and features several memorable jams – most notably eerie version of Luniz’s smash hit “I Got 5 On It”, which showed the world even the most fun-loving songs can become really creepy.
Composer Michael Abels, who scored this critically acclaimed horror, released an official press release explaining his process and working closely alongside Jordan Peele to create something truly terrifying.
“Sonically, what defines ‘scary’ is the unfamiliar. It is the things that we can’t place, and that we don’t expect, that takes us to that place of fear. We wanted to really strike terror into the audience,” said Abels.

]]>Music was the most important side character in this Netflix hit, and not only because the main character just happens to be working at the legendary magazine Rolling Stone. Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, who wrote and directed this film, was once a music writer herself, and this film wouldn’t be what it is if it wasn’t for her background in this industry.
The film’s title actually originates from LCD Soundsystem’s song of the same name, but this band wasn’t even her main source of inspiration.
“The songs that came first were Lorde’s ‘Supercut’ and UGK’s ‘International Players Anthem. They were the grounding places I started. I’d say ‘Supercut’ was written into the movie. It existed in the movie before any of the people in the movie existed,” explained Robinson in an interview with Rolling Stone.
