]]>Rocklahoma welcomed some pretty amazing performers to the Rockin Red Dirt Ranch in Pryor, Oklahoma over the years, and they’ll continue that tradition this summer. The three-day rock festival will run between August 30 and September 1 this time around, and its lineup is as epic as it gets.
The headlining spots have been reserved for Avenged Sevenfold, Disturbed, and Slipknot, and they’ll be in pretty good company. Evanescence, A Day to Remember, Lamb of God, Skillet, Mastodon, and Halestorm are also among the top-billed artists at this year’s Rocklahoma.
Halestorm’s Lzzy Hale can’t wait to hit the Rocklahoma stage this summer, and she described the iconic festival as “a call to arms, a celebration of not only music but also of our differences and what makes us all the same.”
Anthrax will also perform at Rocklahoma before heading to Europe in the fall, and they’ll be joined by Clutch, Kerry King, Coal Chamber, Bad Wolves, and Kim Dracula, among others.

]]>The post Corey Taylor Ends Rumors That Jeramie Kling Will Be Slipknot’s New Drummer appeared first on Hot Pop Today.
]]>The speculation about Kling becoming a new Slipknot drummer started when Kling himself shared a post on Instagram with Slipknot artwork. The post came shortly after Weinberg’s exit but has since been deleted.
Later, Kling also posted a photo of a drum piece and included “#im666,” which many saw as a reference to lyrics: “If you’re 555 / then I’m 666“ from Slipknot’s 2001’s track “Heretic Anthem.”
Addressing the rumors, Taylor shared a post on X in which he denied that Kling will join the bend. Without naming him, Taylor said that Kling is “not even on the list” and included “#hesnot666.”
Jay Weinberg served as Slipknot’s drummer in 2013, replacing co-founder Joey Jordison. Weinberg recorded three studio albums with the band and 2023’s extended play Adderall.
Slipknot made a surprising announcement in early November that Weinberg is no longer a member of the band, describing the move as a “creative decision.” Weinberg later said that his outing was unexpected.

]]>Slipknot recorded this album while working on their 2008 album All Hope Is Gone, and they’ve mentioned it on countless occasions over the years. The potential release of this record was always lurking on the horizon, and they almost dropped it as a Christmas surprise for their fans in 2019, but eventually decided against it.
In a recent interview with NME, Taylor mentioned Look Outside Your Window again and said they’ll most likely release it next year. He described it as Slipknot’s “long-lost album” and said it contains some of his favorite melodies with the band.
“I just went back and listened to all that stuff and it’s so dope and so different. People going into this thinking it sounds like ‘Slipknot’ Slipknot are so wrong. It doesn’t sound like anything Slipknot have ever done, that’s why it’s its own thing,” said Taylor.
Slipknot’s latest studio album The End, So Far hit the shelves last year and debuted at no. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart.

]]>“It’s good to be in good company,” he said in an interview to Maniacs. “Slipknot’s doing really good. I’ve been watching those guys since they were just little f***ing kids beating the f**k out of each other on stage…And to see what they’ve blossomed into is amazing.”
“And then f**k, everyone’s been waiting for a Tool record for how long?” he shifted his attention to his senior rockers. “They’re an amazing band. It just feels really good to see, you know? It feels like a camaraderie of bands. One band being successful helps all of us because we’re becoming a dying breed.”
Despite the success Slipknot, Tool, and even Korn had this year, Davis isn’t happy with how things are run by record companies. “I feel like since the music industry took a turn that there are no more labels willing to spend money to help rock artists be bigger than life rock and roll things anymore,” he complained.
But still, no one can argue with success: “It’s awesome to see that bands like us are still out there doing this and we’re flying the flag for rock n roll. There’s still people who want to come see that and enjoy that.”

]]>The band’s guitarist Jim Root discussed this idea in a recent interview with radio station 93.3 WMMR Rocks! and said it would be really great to perform the album in full at a smaller venue.
“We have been talking about maybe trying to find some way to play the new album in its entirety, from top to bottom. I would like to do that – I think that would be something really cool. And do it in a really toned down, stripped down, no big stage set, club atmosphere type of thing,” explained Root.
Nothing is confirmed just yet, but it sounds like a great idea since We Are Not Your Kind turned out to be another success story for the band. After five year-long break, Slipknot managed to return to the top of the charts with this record, and they’re already planning its follow-up, titled Look Outside Your Window.
