“I’ve never wanted to not include a reference [to classic country] because the group that I belong to thinks it doesn’t fit. The less we genre the music, the less we genre ourselves as people,” the “Take Your Time” singer explained while chatting with Rolling Stone.
Despite the fact it’s been six years since his first album came out, Sam Hunt has been pretty busy in the meantime. He released a series of hit singles, including Grammy-nominated “Body Like a Back Road”, and his latest song “Sinning With You” came out this Friday.

]]>Perplexed fans theorized this might be a buildup for good news from the pop-country singer-songwriter, and we’re happy to say they were, in fact, correct: Hunt has dropped a new song, titled “Kinfolks”, on Thursday (Oct 9). Those enigmatic messages from Instagram? The opening lines of the new song.
“When I think of ‘kinfolks,’ when I think of that phrase, I think of my family, but also I think of my people back home — beyond family,” Hunt said in a press release. “It’s my buddies who’ve been a part of my story from the beginning. His song, “Body Like A Back Road,” was one of the biggest crossover hits of 2017, peaking at #6 on Billboard’s US Adult Top 40 chart and hitting #8 in Billboard’s Hot 100 year-end chart. If that wasn’t enough, the song went 5 times platinum in the US, with over 1.8 million in sales.
While fans are eagerly awaiting his second album, here are 5 other great songs from his debut record Montevallo.
Hunt’s first crossover song “Take Your Time” was also a massive hit.
Hunt co-wrote this song for Keith Urban’s Fuse album, but couldn’t resist including his own version on Montevallo.

If you’re a home body, or you simply don’t feel like getting all dressed up and going out – not a problem. Sam Hunt will bring the party to you.
Everyone knows at least one person that never seems content with what they have, and constantly seeks the next shiny new thing. Well, Sam Hunt knows just how to deal with such girls: He’s going to make sure they remember him.
