]]>The track saw its debut at Williams’ Louis Vuitton Fall-Winter 2024 Show in Paris on Tuesday, January 16. The trio and Williams got together on stage to perform the track live for 1,300 guests while being joined by The Native Vocalists choir.
Speaking about the collaboration in a chat with GQ magazine, Marcus Mumford said there was “just a lot of mutual respect and admiration” between the band and Williams after they connected through performing at the same festivals throughout the years. After meeting each other again at the Something In the Water festival in early 2023, they decided they should do a song together.
Sharing similar church upbringings and fascination with gospel music, they naturally gravitated to writing a song that contained some of these elements.
“We’d all had experience with that, and it felt like we were ready to write a song that felt quite connected to how we were feeling and reaching into some soulful level,” said Mumford.
Following its live debut, the studio version of “Good People” was also shared on streaming services.

]]>Nicki Minaj’s long-awaited album Pink Friday 2 finally hit the shelves this week, and it was worth the wait! This album has given us countless epic songs, but “Pink Friday Girls”, which samples Cyndi Lauper’s “Girls Just Want to Have Fun”, is definitely one of the standouts.
Tate McRae also knocked it out of the park with her sophomore album “Think Later”. The Canadian singer is living up to the title of the next pop princess, and “Run for the Hills” is one of the best songs that her second studio album has in store.
This week has also been amazing for fans of R&B, with Griff’s “Astronaut”, Tems’s “Not An Angel”, and “Risk It All” by Usher and H.E.R. from The Color Purple making it to our list.

]]>If we had to pick the most talked-about new track to hit the shelves this Friday, it would definitely be “Now and Then”, billed as The Beatles’ “final song”. Five decades in the making, this song utilized modern technology to reunite the members of the legendary band for one last time.
November 3 also marked the release of Jungkook’s long-awaited solo album Golden. It’s the most complete record any member of BTS released on their own, and it already produced several hit songs – and we’re expecting great things from its latest single “Standing Next to You”.
Megan Thee Stallion also created a lot of buzz with her comeback single “Cobra”, while Olivia Rodrigo created some hype for The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes soundtrack with “Can’t Catch Me Now”. It was a great week for Gen-Z artists overall, with new music by Willow, Conan Gray, The Kid LAROI, and Laufey also making the cut.

]]>Williams debuted this song during Louis Vuitton’s show at Men’s Fashion Week in Paris, attended by many A-list stars, from Jay-Z and Beyoncé to Rihanna and Zendaya. This is his second collaboration with this gospel choir after they joined forces for the Netflix documentary Voices of Fire.
This gospel choir was founded by his uncle Bishop Ezekiel Williams, who said it was pure joy to collaborate on this song.
“Working with Pharrell is always an amazing experience that not only inspires you, but drives you to dig deep within yourself for the best you have to offer. When the dream team finally came together on this song… I knew that moment in the studio was one of destiny,” he told Tudum.
Pharrell Williams hasn’t released a solo studio album in almost a decade, since his sophomore LP Girl in 2014. Back in November, he revealed that he’s working on his next album Phriends, but he’s yet to share its tracklist and release date.

]]>This side project caught everyone’s eye after the band’s record label Parlophone tweeted about signing a new bend called Los Unidades, accompanied with a blurry image of four people. Fans did some digging and quickly discovered the members of this mystery band are none others than Chris Martin, Jon Buckland, Guy Berryman and Will Champion.
It’s unclear why they felt all of this is necessary, but we’re guessing they’re trying to create some buzz for a good cause. Songs recorded under the new name Los Unidades will be featured on the Global Citizen EP 1, which is tied in with Global Citizen Festival Mandela 100 taking place in December.
All proceeds will go towards efforts to end global poverty and the list of performers also includes Beyoncé, Jay-Z and Ed Sheeran. Chris Martin was the one who curated the festival, alongside band’s manager Dave Holmes.
“It was a real honor to help further the Global Citizen movement by putting together this release alongside Chris and Parlophone. We’ve ended up with so many incredible performers, and we’re all extremely proud of the finished EP. May it be the first of many,” said Holmes about the upcoming event.
