]]>The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame honors “artists who have created music whose originality, impact, and influence has changed the course of rock and roll”, and their performer category includes eight honorees this time around.
Cher was nominated for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for the first time this year, after publicly calling out the organization for never taking her into consideration. Just a few months ago, she told Kelly Clarkson, “I wouldn’t be in it now if they gave me a million dollars.”
Cher is yet to publicly address her induction, but Mary J. Blige and Ozzy Osbourne are among the honorees who expressed gratitude to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. They’ll be inducted alongside Dave Matthews Band, Foreigner, Peter Frampton, Kool & The Gang, and A Tribe Called Quest.
The 2024 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony will take place on October 19, and it will air live on Disney+.

]]>Now we finally can get a taste of how the album will sound since Frampton decided to release its first single, his rendition of B.B. King’s “The Thrill Is Gone.”
Frampton’s version of “The Thrill Is Gone” largely stays faithful to the original and boasts several intense guitar solos that will be a treat for all blues lovers.
The cover also features renowned slide guitarist Sonny Landreth. Hear it below.
“The Thrill Is Gone” was written by West Coast blues musicians Roy Hawkins and Rick Darnell in 1951 but was made popular by B.B. King, who released it as a single in 1969.
It is a familiar tune for Peter Frampton as he played it numerous times with King himself during their joint trek in 2013.
“It’s a tribute,” Frampton told Billboard following the premiere of the song. “We were lucky enough, privileged enough to have BB King open for us on his penultimate tour, and I played the number with him every night. I don’t think people are gonna be too upset that we do a version of this.”
Frampton’s All Blues album is officially scheduled for release on June 7th. Besides Landreth, the album will also feature appearances from Fabulous Thunderbirds’ Kim Wilson, Deep Purple’s Steve Morse and famous studio guitarist Larry Carlton.
