The Philly-based rapper teased her upcoming LP by sharing its quirky cover, shot by conceptual artist Alex De Corte. The 17th-century Italian clown Pierrot, fashion designer Elsa Schiaparelli, and Donna Summer have been listed as inspirations for her new alter-ego.

Whack’s press release described this album cover as “the first reveal of the World Wide Whack character, an alter ego both untouchable and vulnerable, superhuman and painfully human, whose surprising story will unfold in images and video over the course of the album’s visual rollout”.

She also described the World Wide Whack as her debut album and said she hopes her fans will enjoy it as much as she does, but it’s technically her sophomore LP. Her debut studio album Whack World was released in 2018 by Interscope and made it to several lists of best albums that year.

World Wide Whack will be released on March 15, and its first single “Shower Song” will hit the shelves this Friday.

Just a few weeks ago he teased on Twitter that “album mode full effect.” On Monday night he took to social media again to announce that his new single “Heartless” would be available on Tuesday, “The fall starts tomorrow night. Tomorrow night we start again.”

The post showed The Weeknd in 80s style clothing, with a red suit, a mustache, and thick-rimmed glasses. The song is still very much The Weeknd, but it’s slightly more upbeat with a more hip-hop vibe than his previous music.

The Weeknd’s last album Starboy was released in 2006 and since then he has made many guest appearances, an EP last year called My Dear Melancholy, and a single for Game of Thrones called “Power is Power.”

The fourth single from the soon-to-be-released album Lover has dropped. The titular track follows “ME!,” “You Need to Calm Down,” and “The Archer.”

Swift’s forthcoming album is the follow-up to her 2017 album Reputation is Swift’s seventh studio album and her first from new label Republic.

Recent Swift news also includes the announcement that the 29-year-old singer-songwriter will perform at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards, which will male her first televised performance following the release of the new album.

The 29-years-old signer-songwriter keeps on rolling out materials in advance of her forthcoming album. 

The third song titled “The Archer” follows the pop icon’s first two singles, “Me!” and “You Need to Calm Down.”

“It’s not the next single, it’s just a song I love on the album,” she said in an Instagram Live video chat. “I know that can be confusing with the songs that come out. I haven’t made a video for it or anything. It’s just a glimpse into another side of the album I wanted to show you,” she added.

She also divulged that a deluxe edition of the album will feature 120 pages from her personal diaries as well as an empty journal for fans to use, the CD, art, and the CD’s booklet.

“The Archer” is in fact the highly anticipated fifth track off her upcoming seventh album.

“There’s a lot that’s covered, emotionally,” she said about it. “And I really wanted to give you track 5 before the album came out. Track 5 is kind of a tradition that really started with you guys because I didn’t realize I was doing this, because as I was making albums, I don’t know why, but instinctively, I was putting a very emotional, honest track as track 5.”
