Nas is gifting his fans another collection of unreleased material this summer. The American rapper announced that the collection, titled The Lost Tapes II is coming on July 19th. This release serves as a follow up to 2002’s The Lost Tapes.

The Lost Tapes II will contain a number of previously unreleased tracks from Nas including the ones recorded during sessions for his last four studio albums: Hip-Hop Is Dead, Untitled, Life Is Good, and NASIR.

The release features appearances by Al Jarreau, Keyon Harrold, RaVaughn, J. Myers and others. The production for the project was handled by the likes of RZA, No I.D., Kanye West, Pharrell, and Swizz Beatz.

The Lost Tapes II was originally scheduled for release back in 2003 and would contain Nas’ unreleased recordings, remixes, and freestyle tracks. The release ended up being delayed and “Street Dreams” rapper eventually shelved the collection. Fans even started an online petition back in 2010, hoping to get the process speeded up, but Nas chose to focus on other projects instead.

Before they kick off their joint tour in the summer, Mary J. Blige and Nas decided to work on their chemistry in the studio. The R&B star and the rapper recently released their new song “Thriving,” which marks their third collaboration after “Feel Inside” and “Reach Out.”

Back in April, Mary J. Blige and Nas treated their fans with a spectacular announcement that they will be teaming up for a tour across North America.

The tour will kick off on July 11th in West Palm Beach and will see the pair making 20 more stops in cities like Atlanta, Houston, and Las Vegas before wrapping up the trip on September 10th in Toronto.

Before the tour starts, we might get to hear more new music from Blige, as she told Ebro Darden on Beats 1 that her new album is almost finished. Her last studio release a came in 2017 when she released Strength of a Woman.

Nas, on the other hand, released his latest album Nasir in 2018. Since then, he also released a non-album single, “Craze,” featuring ThomasTekno, while also taking part in song “NY Se Mumbai with Divine, Naezy and Ranveer Singh.
