The post Karol G Dominates the 2024 Latin American Music Awards With Six Trophies appeared first on Hot Pop Today.
]]>Karol G faced tough competition in Bad Bunny, Shakira, Rauw Alejandro, and the night’s most-nominated artists Feid and Peso Pluma in the race for the artists of the year, but managed to defeat them all and take the trophy home.
To make the whole thing even more impressive, this wasn’t the only major award she collected. Mañana Será Bonito won her the coveted award for the album of the year, while her viral hit “TQG” ft. Shakira was named the song of the year, beating Shakira’s own “Shakira: Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53”.
Karol G also won trophies for global Latin artist of the year, favorite urban artist, and favorite urban album with Mañana Será Bonito. Feid was also one of the major winners of the night with six awards, including collaboration of the year for “Yandel 150” ft. Yandel.
The 2024 Latin American Music Awards took place at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas on April 25, with Thalía, Alejandra Espinoza, Becky G, and Carlos Ponce serving as co-hosts.

]]>Beyoncé broke the internet shortly after this year’s Super Bowl by announcing the release of her next studio album Renaissance Act II. Her next LP will be country-themed, and the lead single “Texas Hold ‘Em” proves that this genre fits her like a glove.
Dua Lipa is also busy teasing the release of her next album, and she finally dropped her long-awaited new single “Training Season”. Vampire Weekend are gearing up for the release of their new LP Only God Was Above Us, and they gave us a taste of things to come with “Capricorn”.
Our list for this week doesn’t feature too many collaborations, but the ones that made the cut are as good as it gets. Mariah Carey hopped on the remix of Ariana Grande’s “Yes, And?”, while Karol G joined forces with Tiësto for the electrifying new song “Contigo”.
Check out our list in full and get ready to discover new songs by Caroline Polachek, Pearl Jam, IDLES, Kim Gordon, and Tierra Whack.

]]>Sam Smith delivered the first SNL performance of 2023 alongside Kim Petras. This rendition of “Unholy” was pretty tame compared to some of their other performances, but that added to its charm.
We can count on Karol G to knock it out of the park every time she hits the stage, and she impressed us with two completely different takes on “Tus Gafitas” and “Mientras Me Curo Del Cora “ during her time on SNL.
Bad Bunny is the only SNL host to pull double duty in 2023, and he delivered an epic performance of “Un Preview” and “Monaco” in addition to hosting the show.
Olivia Rodrigo brought pop-punk energy to the SNL stage with a theatrical rendition of “All-American B—h”, which included everything from glass breaking to cake smashing.
Tate McRae gave us one of the biggest viral hits of 2023 with “Greedy” and her amazing dance skills were on full display in this electrifying live performance.

]]>This week has been pretty epic for hip-hop collaborations, starring with B.G. and Gucci Mane’s new album Choppers & Bricks, which produced the song “Talk”.
Nicki Minaj teamed up with Monica and Keyshia Cole for “Love Me Enough”, a bonus track featured on a deluxe edition of her latest album Pink Friday 2. “Lace It” by the late Juice WRLD, Eminem, and Benny Blanco also made the cut, along with Bas’s “Home Alone” feat. J. Cole.
Speaking of epic collaborations that hit the shelves this week, none of them created more buzz than Reneé Rapp & Megan Thee Stallion’s “Not My Fault”. They both channeled their inner Regina George in this catchy bop, set to be featured in the upcoming Mean Girls musical remake.
Check out the rest of our list for this week, and get ready to discover new music by Lil Baby, Karol G, John Legend, James Arthur, and more.

]]>This week has been pretty slow in terms of new releases because most of our favorite stars took a break to celebrate Thanksgiving with their loved ones. That didn’t stop our favorite artists outside of the United States from dropping new music and giving us some amazing new songs in the process.
This has been an amazing week for female collaborations, and two of the best songs from our list fall under that category. Kali Uchis and Karol G knocked it out of the park with their new collaboration “Labios Mordidos”, while Björk and Rosalía seamlessly blended their unique artistic styles on their new duet “Oral”.
Speaking of great collaborations to make it to our list, Jacob Collier’s new song “Witness Me” is also worth listening to and features contributions from Shawn Mendes, Stormzy, and Kirk Franklin.
It’s also been a great week for alternative artists, with Winona Oak, The Japanese House, and Sam Fischer managing to beat tough competition and make it to our list of the best new songs of the week.

]]>No new song released this week created more hype than Olivia Rodrigo’s “Bad Idea Right?”. The singer’s cheeky guitar-heavy track sees her debating about getting back with her ex, and it perfectly showcases the tonal diversity of her upcoming second studio album Guts.
Speaking of new albums, this week marked the release of Karol G’s Mañana Será Bonito (Bichota Season), and its second single “Mi Ex Tenía Razón” made it to our list of the best new songs. Trippie Redd and The Hives also dropped new LPs this week, and we selected some of their best new songs for you to hear.
This week’s list has something in store for everyone, covering such genres as hip-hop, country, and alternative rock. Stick around to hear new music from Dogstar, Tove Lo, Kelsea Ballerini, James Bay, and many other amazing artists.

]]>Karol G’s set was one of the highlights of the festival’s opening day and she ended up making history as the first Latina performer to ever headline Lollapalooza in Chicago.
K-pop acts are slowly taking over major music festivals, including Lollapalooza. Tomorrow x Together made history as the first K-pop headliner, while NewJeans became the first K-pop girl group to perform at Lollapalooza.
It’s been a decade since the last time Kendrick Lamar performed at Lollapalooza, but he felt right at home once he finally came back. He returned to Chicago’s Grant Park to close out the festival’s second day and delivered a high-energy set stacked with his biggest hits.
Billie Eilish didn’t release many new songs since her second studio album Happier Than Ever, but that didn’t stop her from delivering one of Lollapalooza’s most explosive sets this year.
After her Glastonbury set was cut short earlier this summer, Lana Del Ray made up to her fans with an epic performance at Lollapalooza, which served as the festival’s big finish at the Bud Light stage.

]]>The post Karol G Announces Surprise Album “Mañana Será Bonito (Bichota Season)” appeared first on Hot Pop Today.
]]>Karol G teased the album’s release with a 30-minute clip on social media, which shows her drawing the album artwork using grains of black and pink salt. She captioned the video by writing, “This tour wouldn’t be the same without the end of this story” and revealed that Bichota Season will hit the shelves on August 11.
This LP serves as a companion piece to her fourth studio album Mañana Será Bonito, which was released back in February. It debuted atop the Billboard 200 chart, becoming the first all-Spanish language album by a woman to do so.
Mañana Será Bonito translates as “tomorrow will be beautiful” and the Latin superstar told The Rolling Stone she opted for that title because she kept coming back to this phrase during a low point in her life.
“The name of the album is a phrase I kept repeating to myself when nothing felt great. I mean, I was going through the best moment of my career, but personally, I was really disconnected from myself and from my friends. I wasn’t unhappy, but I wasn’t happy either,” explained Karol G.

]]>We’re less than a week away from the release of Barbie and its star-studded soundtrack, and the most-anticipated song from this album just hit the shelves. Billie Eilish was recently revealed as the last secret artist to be featured on Barbie: The Album, and her new song “What Was I Made For?” lives up to the hype.
Eilish isn’t the only artist to break the internet with new music this week. Troye Sivan gave us a catchy queer anthem with his new song “Rush”, which set the stage for his newly-announced third studio album Something to Give Each Other.
This week also gave us several exciting collaborations, including “Seven” by Jung Kook and Latto, “Turn Your Clic Up” by Quavo and Future, and “Turn Your Phone Off” by PinkPantheress and Destroy Lonely.
Check out the rest of our list of the best new songs of the week and discover new music by Post Malone, Thirty Seconds to Mars, Karol G, and many more.
