]]>Vultures was initially supposed to arrive in October but has since been hit with several delays. The original release date was first pushed back to November before being rescheduled for December 15. However, the date came and went without the album dropping, and its status has been unclear until now.
Reportedly, the reasons for frequent delays were connected to West and Ty Dolla $ign’s struggles to get clearances for certain tracks. They had trouble securing clearance to use a sample of the Backstreet Boys’ 1997 hit track “Everybody,” while Nicki Minaj refused to give the duo permission to use her verse for the song “New Body.”
Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign first announced the album in the summer of 2023. It will be West’s first studio effort since 2021’s Donda and Ty Dolla $ign’s first new record since Cheers to the Best Memories, a collaboration project with Canadian duo Dvsn.
Vultures, which was already previewed at several listening parties, is expected to feature a star-studded list of guest appearances that includes Lil Baby, Freddie Gibbs, Playboi Carti, Chris Brown, Future, Lil Wayne, and Bad Bunny.
