]]>Campbell has gathered an impressive pack of old lions to collaborate with for the album, including Alice Cooper, Mick Mars (Mötley Crüe), guitar legend Joe Satriani, Dee Snider (Twisted Sister) and Rob Halford (Judas Priest).
“I couldn’t believe the incredible players that spent some time on the record for me,” Campbell said to Andrew McKaysmith on his podcast, Scars and Guitars. “I’m the luckiest guy in the world in that respect. Mega talent all the way through it, helping me out when I needed help. I’ve got no complaints whatsoever.”
On the making of the album, Campbell said: “I wouldn’t say [it was] 20 years in the making, but 20 years I’ve been yearning to do a solo album. Since Motörhead, sadly, finished, I’ve had more time to think about [it] and to knuckle down and everything. I probably started the first recording of it about two and a half, three years ago.”
The songs we’ve heard from the upcoming release all sound great and distinctly different from the established Motörhead formula. “I just didn’t want to do an album sounding like Motörhead,” Campbell explained. “I’ve done 20-odd albums like that.”
