]]>After a lot of anticipation, Lady Gaga’s long-awaited album Mayhem finally hit the shelves this Friday – and it was worth the wait! It marks an epic return to form for the singer who never feared to experiment with different genres and styles, and we singled out “Garden of Eden” as one of its best new songs.
Speaking of new albums, Jennie is the latest member of Blackpink to share her solo album Ruby with the world, and “Handlebars” ft. Dua Lipa is its buzziest new song. The indie rock singer Sasami also impressed us with her new LP Blood on the Silver Screen and made it to our list with “I’ll Be Gone”.
We’ve chosen to showcase many other amazing female artists on our list this week in celebration of International Women’s Day. Bishop Briggs has given us the defining girl power anthem of the week with her new song “Woman Is King” – and that’s just the beginning!
Check out the rest of our list to discover new music by the likes of Doechii, The Ophelias, and Rachel Chinouriri.

]]>K-pop superstar Jennie teased her upcoming debut album Ruby with the Doechii duet “ExtraL”, but this wasn’t the only buzzy collaboration to hit the shelves this week. Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco teased their joint album I Said I Love You First with “Call Me When You Break Up” ft. Gracie Abrams.
Several songs from our list also hail from the week’s most exciting album releases. “Revolving Door” made more buzz than any other song from Tate McRae’s So Close To What, while Sam Fender rocked our world with “Little Bit Closer” from People Watching.
Marina set the stage for her next album with one of our favorite new songs of the week, the sensual lead single “Butterfly”. It was a great week for indie artists overall – Suki Waterhouse, Fontaines DC, Wallows, and Mumford & Sons were also among the artists impressing us with their brand-new songs.

]]>Jennie has been plotting her first solo album ever since she founded her own record label Odd Atelier in the late 2023. She’s given us a taste of things to come with the lead single “Mantra” back in October, and she prepared a total of 15 brand-new tracks for her album Ruby, set to be released on March 7 via Odd Atelier and Columbia Records.
Jennie’s new record will be one star-studded affair. She joined forces with an impressive roster of A-list stars, including Childish Gambino, Doechii, Dominic Fike, FKJ, Dua Lipa, and Kali Uchis. She mostly recorded Ruby in Los Angeles and said it was a joy to create music in such a great environment, with people who inspire her.
She also described her debut album as “a fight between me, myself, and I” because it taught her a lot about herself.
“The more I get to know myself, the more I try to love myself. I’ve had a time in my life where I didn’t – I had no clue how to do that. The time where I was feeling clueless. The fact that I’ve moved on from that phase and being so committed to myself, I’m very proud,” she told Billboard.

]]>The K-pop singer took to social media to announce she founded a new company OA, which will be handling her solo projects in the future.
“This year was filled with many accomplishments, and I’m so thankful for all the love I’ve received. I’m also about what’s to come, as I start my solo journey in 2024 with a company that I have established called OA. Please show lots of love for my new start with OA and of course, Blackpink,” wrote Jennie on social media.
OA stands for “Odd Atelier”, and its official website describes it as “a space that aims to create new things that attract attention in a different way from what is usual or expected.”
2023 has been a transformative year for Jennie, even before she announced she’s launching her own label. The Blackpink singer made her acting debut in HBO’s short-lived series The Idol and recorded the song “One of the Girls” with her co-stars The Weeknd and Lily-Rose Depp.

]]>If we had to single out one album that knocked us off our feet this week, it would definitely be Sufjan Stevens’ Javelin. The indie singer dedicated his tenth studio album to his late partner, Evans Richardson, and gave us ten brand-new songs on the standard edition, including “A Running Start”.
Tems has given us her first single this year with “Me & U”, potently giving us a glimpse of her highly-anticipated debut studio album. Blackpink’s Jennie went back to working on some solo music, and impressed us with her new single “You & Me”.
Our list for this week includes an interesting mix of different genres so check it out to discover new music by everyone from Blink-182 and Paramore to Omar Apollo and Nessa Barrett.

]]>This week marked the release of new albums by several female vocalists we all know and love, including Kelly Clarkson, Kim Petras, and Coi Leray. All of their albums are worth keep listening to in full, but we had to stick to picking one song from each.
Highly-anticipated soundtracks for The Idol and Barbie have also given us two of the strongest candidates for song of the week. The Weeknd joined forces with Lily-Rose Depp and Blackpink’s Jennie for “One of the Girls”, while Nicki Minaj and Ice Spice put their own hip-hop-infused twist on Aqua’s iconic song “Barbie Girl” with their new collaboration “Barbie World”.
It’s also been a great week for Latin music, with Anitta, Rauw Alejandro, and Bizarrap making the cut. Fans of alternative music won’t be disappointed by our list, either, because we’re bringing you new tracks by Hozier, Beck, and Portugal. The Man.
