]]>Brian May described the song as beautiful and touching while chatting with BBC, adding it was hiding in plain sight before they decided to take a close look at it and put it back together.
“We looked at it many times and thought, ‘Oh no, we can’t really rescue that.’ But in fact, we went in there again and our wonderful engineering team went, ‘Okay, we can do this and this.’ It’s like kind of stitching bits together,” explained May.
Roger Taylor joined May for the interview with BBC, and described the song as “a little gem from Freddie.” He also called it “a real discovery” and “a very passionate piece” and revealed they’ll most likely release it in September.
The Miracle was released in 1989, as the band’s penultimate album to be recorded with the legendary frontman Freddie Mercury before he passed away in 1991. Queen is currently touring alongside Alan Lambert and they most recently opened the Platinum Party at the Palace outside Buckingham Palace to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

]]>Decades later, Queen’s drummer Roger Taylor decided to set the record straight on this rumor in a recent interview with Classic Rock. According to Taylor, Michael was never offered the spot as he wasn’t the right fit.
“I remember hearing the rumors but it wouldn’t have suited us,” said Taylor. “George wasn’t really used to working with a live band. When he heard the power he had behind him in rehearsal, he couldn’t believe it.”
Michael performed three songs at the Wembley Stadium concert with Queen including “39,” “These Are the Days of Our Lives,” and “Somebody to Love.” The performance was later released as Five Live EP and made to No.1 on UK Singles charts.
Queen’s guitarist Brian May and Taylor later teamed up with Bad Company’s lead singer Paul Rodgers in 2004 for a new iteration of the band. After splitting with Rodgers five years later, the duo recruited American Idol finalist Adam Lambert as their new singer.

]]>The original version of “Time” was heavily produced and filled with drums and backing vocals, which didn’t allow Mercury’s amazing voice to shine. However, Clark recently decided to present us with a stripped down version of the song, which captures the essence of late Queen frontman’s performance.
On the new version of “Time Waits For No One,” Mercury is backed by a piano played by his collaborator Mike Moran and showcases his ability to bend his voice in amazing manners.
“Freddie asked me, ‘How do you want me to perform this?'” Clark recalled in a recent interview with Rolling Stone. “I said, ‘As a cross between Edith Piaf, Jennifer Holliday, and Shirley Bassey.’ He said, ‘Well, dear. I have all the dresses. I can do it perfectly.'”

]]>Those familiar with the book the mini-series was based on were not surprised by the countless Queen references. One of Agnes Nutter’s prophecies mentioned in the novel clearly states that “all tapes left in a car for more than about a fortnight metamorphose into Best of Queen albums” and that’s exactly what happens in Good Omens.
Every time we see Crowley driving his old Bentley, we can hear one of Queen’s songs blasting in the background. Even the songs that weren’t originally recorded by this legendary band are reminiscent of their signature sound.
Queen references were one of the most notable running jokes in the original novel, and director Douglas Mackinnon really went an extra mile to get the rights for band’s greatest hits – especially “Bohemian Rhapsody”.
“I think Queen was going, ‘Well, maybe the film is not going to be so good, so you can have the rights.’ Happily for everyone, the film turns out to be a great film and one of the biggest splashes of the year. But we still had the rights,” explained Mackinnon while chatting with The Wrap.

“I don’t know if Bob Geldof will kill me for this but I saw him and met him last night and what he said to me is he called Freddie and he told them, ‘Freddie, I think that there’s an event that was made especially for Queen and especially for you’”, Malek recalled.
“And he goes, ‘This audience is made for Freddie,’ and Freddie said, ‘What do you mean, darling?’ and he said, ‘Well, it’s the world’ and Freddie goes, ‘I see what you mean.”
During his acceptance speech last night, Malek said: “To the greatest outsider of them all. For being so unwavering and unflinching and uncompromising in every which way. Thank you Freddie Mercury again.”

“He was the greatest housewife you can imagine,” said Dolezal. “Freddie invited me to his private functions often, and, at one dinner party, the guests included Rod Stewart and Elton John. I remember there was a lot of bitching about other artists, and about themselves.”
He then reminisced: “I think Rod came up with the idea of forming a group called Nose, Teeth & Hair, because Rod had a big nose, Elton had problems with his hair and Freddie had his teeth!”
Sure, a superband never actually materalized but the image of the three of them performing together in a group called “Nose, Teeth & Hair” is enough to put a smile on our face.

]]>The upcoming Blu-Ray release of the biopic will feature an extended version of the Live Aid Performance, giving fans a chance to re-watch star Rami Malek relive the rock star for an even longer amount of time.
In case you haven’t watched it, Bohemian Rhapsody is the title of English rock band Queen’s biopic. It stars Rami Malek as Freddie Mercury and mainly revolves around the rise of the famous rock group. The Live Aid performance was the last show Queen held. It was aimed at raising funds for an Ethiopian famine and was held in July 1985.
The event was star studded, featuring artists like David Bowie, Elton John, Paul McCarthy, Mick Jagger, Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin and The Who. The event was placed in the biopic as the last performance in part due to its historic significance in the rock scene.
Early this week, 20th Century Fox released news that the Blu-Ray release of the film will include the full Live Aid performance. It will be 22-minute long and will feature additional songs like “We Will Rock You” and “Crazy Little Thing Called Love.”
Considering Bohemian Rhapsody was one of the best grossing films of the last month, its Blu-Ray release will probably have the same impact.
