]]>Conceived by British company Layered Reality, Elvis Evolution is expected to have its debut at some point in November. After the initial run, the show will embark on a world tour that will include stops in Las Vegas, Berlin, and Tokyo.
According to the press release shared by Layered Reality, the show will be based on “musician’s personal photos and home-video footage” and feature a life-size digital version of Presley performing his biggest hits. It will be followed by an after-party that will take place in an Elvis Presley-themed restaurant and bar and include live performances.
“The show peaks with a concert experience that will recreate the seismic impact of seeing Elvis live for a whole new generation of fans, blurring the lines between reality and fantasy,” Layered Reality adds. “Through AI and groundbreaking tech you’ll be able to witness iconic Elvis performances as if you were really there, and celebrate defining moments in Elvis Presley’s extraordinary life and career.”
Elvis Presley isn’t the first music legend to return to the stage as a hologram. In the past, music icons like Tupac Shakur, Roy Orbison, and Whitney Houston all received a hologram treatment. Currently, a hugely successful ABBA Voyage virtual concert residency, featuring digital versions of Swedish pop legends ABBA, is underway at London’s Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

This is the 68th week overall that one of Swift’s albums spent at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, helping her set another major record along the way. She surpassed Elvis Presley to become the solo artist with the most weeks at No. 1 but is still far behind The Beatles, with 132 weeks atop the Billboard 200 overall.
1989 (Taylor’s Version) was released on October 27, 2023, on the ninth anniversary of the original 1989, which produced Swift’s signature hits “Shake It Off”, “Blank Space”, and “Bad Blood”. The re-release was celebrated with two singles: “S–t!” and “Is It Over Now?”, which hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Christmas at Graceland featured never-seen-before archival footage from the music legend and several star musicians performing Presley’s hits as well as a string of other songs.
Lana Del Rey opted for “Unchained Melody,” a track by the Righteous Brothers, which Presley released as a single in 1977, just a few months before his death.
Malone, on the other hand, did the 1963 single “(You’re the) Devil in Disguise.” The song was Presley’s final Top 10 entry on the Billboard Rhythm and Blues Singles chart, peaking at No. 9 upon its release.
Christmas at Graceland also saw performances from John Legend, Alanis Morissette, Kane Brown, Lainey Wilson, and Kasey Musgraves. Legend and Morissette brought the full Christmas vibe to the special, with the former singing “Happy Christmas (War Is Over)” by John & Yoko/Plastic Ono Band, and the latter rocking Wham’s “Last Christmas”.

This is one of the singles from Lil Wayne’s latest album Funeral, the rapper’s fifth record to reach no. 1 in the US.
Drake still holds the record for most singles in the top 40, with a total of 100 entries. Lil Wayne is in second place with 82, only one more than Elvis. It’s important to note that the Billboard Hot 100 chart was launched in 1958, two years after Presley’s commercial breakthrough.

]]>The brand new adult animated action-comedy series, Agent King, was announced by the streaming giant on the 42nd anniversary of Elvis Presley’s death.
According to Netflix, Agent King will see “Elvis Presley trade in his white jumpsuit for a jet pack when he is covertly inducted into a secret government spy program to help battle the dark forces that threaten the country he loves — all while holding down his day job as the King Of Rock And Roll.”
“From the time Elvis was a young boy he always dreamed of being the superhero fighting crime and saving the world!” Priscilla added in a statement. “Agent King lets him do just that. My co-creator John Eddie and I are so excited to be working with Netflix and Sony Animation on this amazing project and getting the chance to show the world an Elvis they haven’t seen before.”
Co-creators Presley and Eddie will also serve as executive producers with Mike Arnold serving as showrunner. Jerry Schilling is on board as a consultant with menswear designer John Varvatos creating Elvis’s looks for the show.

]]>Now, Luhrmann has confirmed that the role of the rock ‘n’ roll legend will be taken on by Austin Butler. The rising star recently appeared in Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon A Time In Hollywood. He will be accompanied by Tom Hanks, who will be playing Elvis’ manager.
Luhrmann said in a statement: “I knew I couldn’t make this film if the casting wasn’t absolutely right, and we searched thoroughly for an actor with the ability to evoke the singular natural movement and vocal qualities of this peerless star, but also the inner vulnerability of the artist…
“Throughout the casting process, it was an honor for me to encounter such a vast array of talent. I had heard about Austin Butler from his stand-out role opposite Denzel Washington in The Iceman Cometh on Broadway, and through a journey of extensive screen testing and music and performance workshops, I knew unequivocally that I had found someone who could embody the spirit of one of the world’s most iconic musical figures.”
A release date for the currently untitled Elvis Presley biopic is yet to be announced.

]]>The first collection, titled Live 1969, will celebrate the 50th anniversary of Presley’s Las Vegas residency at International Hotel. This residency marked the “Love Me Tender” star’s first live appearances in eight years, and he did a total of 57 shows. The collection will come as an 11xCD set with a 52-page booklet and will contain previously unreleased material. The release date has been set for August 9th.
Two-LP vinyl set is also set for release on the same date and will feature a complete set from Presley’s midnight show from August 26th, 1969.
Finally, on August 23rd, a digital collection titled American Sound 1969 will be out. This collection will future 90 rare and unreleased tracks that Elvis Presley recorded in American Studio during the session for his tenth studio album From Elvis in Memphis. This record ended up being one of Presley’s more acclaimed works and has included hits like “In the Ghetto” and “I’ll Hold You in My Heart (Till I Can Hold You in My Arms).”

“Keith Urban personally requested Post Malone for a duet on ‘Baby What You Want Me to Do,’ a section of his band were just casually playing together on stage,” he said. “When I asked Post Malone about performing it, he said, ‘Oh year, the Jimmy Reed song.”
Don asked J.LO to sing Heartbreak Hotel and the part will recreate ELVIS singing in front of glimmering neon lights that spelled out his name. Carrie Underwood and Yolanda Adams will play ‘It’s Now or Never,’ the gospel song by Josh Groban. John Legend will perform A Little Less Conversation while Lambert will sing Blue Suede Shoes.
