]]>“Seasons” was Cornell’s first solo track which he recorded for cult romantic comedy, Singles. The song also found its place on the “You Know My Name” singer’s EP Poncier.

This isn’t the first time that Eddie Vedder honors his late friend during live shows. He regularly performed another track from Poncier, “Missing,” during live shows while also remembering Cornell on Johannesburg’s Global Citizen: Mandela 100 festival with a special rendition of Pearl Jam’s “Long Road.”
Vedder and Cornell were longtime friends, emerging together on the Seattle’s music scene during the rise of grunge. They were briefly bandmates, forming band Temple of the Dog in 1990 and recording one album in honor of Mother Love Bone’s late frontman Andrew Wood.

“There Is a Light That Never Goes Out” was featured on The Smiths’ third studio album The Queen Is Dead, which was released in 1986. Johnny Marr wrote the music for the track, while the band’s vocalist Morrissey provided the lyrics.
Eddie Vedder’s appearance at the Ohana Music Festival wasn’t a pure coincidence since he was the headliner for day three of the event. During his set, Vedder played mostly covers, including one of Pearl Jam’s songs “Better Man,” for which he recruited American singer/songwriter Liz Phair.
