]]>“They’re all these fun songs that make you feel better”, Pardi explained to Billboard. “If they’re a little slower, they still make you feel really good. That’s why we played it off the medication thing: we want to do songs that make you feel good, make you want to have a drink, do a little dancing or just cry it out.”
Pardi has made a name for himself within the Country scene with his two previous albums, Write You a Song and California Sunrise, as a musician with a penchant for combining the old with the new. He likes taking the soul of 60’s Country and infuse it with modern twists.
“We were going for a fun, new traditional country record that has old-school sounds, but it’s modern, and it can hold its own in this state of country music,” he went on to add. “I love the quote, ‘We sit around and have some beers and listen to some old country.’ There’s no reason why we couldn’t sit around and have some beers to my new record. It’s the same kind of sounds.”

]]>The post Country Megastar Luke Combs Announced Dates for a 2020 Follow-up Tour appeared first on Hot Pop Today.
]]>Combs emerged onto the scene with his 2017 debut album This One’s For You, but it was with the singles of his upcoming album What You See Is What You Get, which will come out in November, that he soared to real heights. Five of his songs are currently featured in Billboard’s Hot Country Songs Top 25. The last person to have accomplished that? The late Johnny Cash, all the way back in 1959!
Although Combs hasn’t yet hit the road for his 2019 Beer Never Broke My Heart tour, all shows but one have been sold out. This is no doubt what prompted the singer to announce dates for his 2020. Locations announced now are Missouri, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Kentucky, Michigan, New Mexico, Colorado, and Texas.
And as if things weren’t going super already, Combs has three nominations at the 2019 CMA awards: Song of the Year for “Beautiful Crazy”, Musical Event of the Year and Male Vocalist of the year.
The only question on our mind is what’s less likely: Luke Combs winning all three awards, or us scoring a ticket to his 2020 shows before they sell out? Only time will tell…

]]>She went on to add: “I love that when I started to do country, they were like, ‘Oh you’re pop. You’re not country enough.’ I’m like, ‘I’m sorry, let me show you this list of the Top 20,’ which by the way did not include one female.”
Clarkson continued to opine that women country singers are treated unfairly and are played less often than their male counterparts: “Y’all don’t play people with boobs either, it’s fine. ‘Oh you got boobs, you’re not a man, we can’t play you, get out of here.’ What happened? The ’90s were filled [with female country singers]”.
“What is happening in country music? This is what’s happening. Y’all aren’t playing country music anymore,” she concluded.

]]>PBS broke the news at the Television Critics Association conference in Pasadena, confirming that the documentary will be 16 and a half hours long. Like many of Burns’ documentaries, Country Music will feature actual live footage of performances done in the last few decades.
Burns also confirmed that the documentary will limit its number of on-screen historians and allow only one scholarly author, Bill Malone. A big reason for that is because most of the country artists featured have been in the business for long and know about the genre’s history pretty well.
“We made it clear to some of the people who appear in our film as commentators—like Dierks Bentley, Ketch Secor of Old Crow Medicine Show and Rhiannon Giddenns—that they’re too damn young for us to cover their career,” Dayton Duncan, a writer and producer in the film, said.
In total, 101 country artists were filmed, including 40 Half of Famers and 17 who’ve already passed away.
