With such an illustrious career, you can bet Streisand is an invaluable asset to her recording company, Columbia Records. But you might be surprised to hear just how long this mutually beneficial cooperation has been going on: 57 years, according to a recent IG post by Streisand.
“Signing my first record contract with Goddard Lieberson at @ColumbiaRecords in 1962,” writes the singer. In the attached picture you can see the smiley 20-year-old Streisand practically shining with confidence, with the heads of Columbia standing around her wearing smart suits and smiles of their own.
We can’t help but wonder if the people in this historic picture knew that this will be a defining moment, not only in their own careers but in the course of recorded music.
