]]>This Friday marked the release of Childish Gambino’s soundtrack album Bando Stone & the New World, and she found a perfect way to promote it. “In the Night” was released as its second single, and the Grammy-winning rapper found the best partners in crime in Jorja Smith and Amaarae.
This is only one of two collaborations to make the cut this week, and we were equally impressed by James Bay’s “Up All Night” featuring The Lumineers and Noah Kahan.
Some of our favorite indie bands also returned with new albums this week. Glass Animals unleashed I Love You So F***ing Much and gave us ten brand-new songs, including “Show Pony”. Highly Suspect dropped As Above, So Below, and “Plastic Boxes” emerged as one of their best new songs.
It’s been a good week for alternative music overall, with Wallows and Paris Paloma also making the cut, but we made sure to also put new songs by Benson Boone, Jade, Khalid, and Alessia Cara in the mix.

]]>In a pretty slow week for new major releases, no new song created as much buzz as “Tough”. The collaboration between Quavo and Lana Del Rey is an unexpected but welcomed surprise, and it serves as an introduction to Del Rey’s upcoming country-themed album Lasso.
Speaking of new albums, Kasabian returned with Happenings this Friday, and “Italian Horror” emerged as one of its best songs. The country star Zach Bryan shared his new studio album The Great American Bar Scene, which has given us several amazing collaborations and his next big fit “28”.
This week marked the return of Childish Gambino with “Lithonia”, from his upcoming soundtrack album Bando Stone & the New World. Kesha also made a comeback with her first single of 2024, the electropop banger “Joyride”.
Beabadoobee, Jessie Ware, Romy, Killer Mike, OneRepublic, and Lainey Wilson also made it to our list, so buckle up to discover their new music.

]]>This week gave us several amazing new albums, but none of them compares to Billie Eilish’s Hit Me Hard and Soft. Her decision not to release any singles beforehand worked wonders for this album because she managed to create even more hype for its launch before rocking our world with the lead single “Lunch”.
Eilish wasn’t the only major artist to drop a new album this Friday. ZAYN made a comeback with Room Under the Stairs, and promoted its release with a new single “Stardust”, while Cage the Elephant impressed us with “Rainbow” from their new album Neon Pill.
If you’re looking for a new catchy bop to listen to on repeat this summer, you’ll find two on our list – Saweetie’s “NANi” and Bebe Rexha’s “Chase It (Mmm Da Da Da)”. It’s also been a great week for our favorite alternative bands, and Bleachers, Empire of the Sun, and Highly Suspect all made the cut, alongside Cage the Elephant.

]]>Glover recently took to social media to debut some new music, and described his Instagram live as “a rollout dummy”. He played three new tracks, including the previously leaked “Human Sacrifice” and a full version of “Little Foot Big Foot”, expected to be featured on his next album Atavista, an updated version of 3.15.20.
He also announced the release of its follow-up, which he described as “the final Childish Gambino album, a soundtrack for the fans.” It will be connected to his next film Bando Stone & The New World, set to be released this summer.
Glover dropped hints about retiring the Childish Gambino act on several occasions over the years, and he previously told HuffPost that he’s considering ending his music career because it doesn’t feel “necessary” anymore.
“There’s nothing worse than like a third sequel, like a third movie and we’re like, ‘again?’ You know, I like it when something’s good and when it comes back there’s a reason to come back, there’s a reason to do that,” Glover told HuffPost.

“Sober” is an old classic that takes the big beats down a notch. It’s always a big hit when he plays it live.
Because Donald Glover can spit bars like an OG. It’s also a reminder that Glover was a legend way before “Redbone”.
For a song with a political message, “This Is America” is pretty upbeat. The crowd always goes wild for it and people who don’t usually like rap end up rapping along.
“Feels Like Summer” gets our vote for the music video of the summer. The summer vibes may even beat last year’s big hit “Summertime Magic.”
“Redbone” is the song that got people who didn’t know who Childish Gambino was listening to nothing but Childish Gambino. It’s a song to chill to, dance to, and enjoy the festival vibes too.
