]]>Bullet For My Valentine took to social media to announce they’ll soon go back to touring across North America, adding they can’t wait to see their fans because it’s been far too long.
“After 5 long years, we’re finally heading back to the USA and Canada for a proper headline tour!! We’re gonna be bringing our old friends in Of Mice & Men and heavy metal upstarts Vended along for the ride so get ready for some serious mosh pit action!!” they wrote in a statement on social media.
Even though it’s been a while since the Welsh band performed in the US, they’ve been pretty busy in recent years. They toured across the UK this year and most recently headlined the Two Thousand Trees Festival in Withington.
The band’s North American tour will kick off with a concert at Mtelus in Montreal, Canada on October 8. They’re expected to stay on the road for a full month, before finishing things up with a final show at Hard Rock Live in Orlando, Florida on November 10.

]]>Tuck discussed the album in an interview with Metalshop TV before a recent concert in Slovakia and revealed what we can expect when it officially hits the shelves.
“I think early signs are pointing in the direction of kind of a dirty love child of ‘Venom’ and ‘Gravity.’ We’ve written a couple of songs already, so it’s taking the best bits of those two and kind of smashing them together,” explained Tuck.
He didn’t share the release date of their next studio effort, but Bullet for My Valentine usually takes two to three years between their albums. Their latest LP Gravity came out in 2018 and made it to Top 10 on Billboard’s rock and hard rock charts.

]]>One thing that pops out when you listen to “Over It” for the first time is that this won’t be a song that will appeal to fans of their earlier works. The song feels a bit watered down, almost too timid for the style Bullet For My Valentine is recognizable for. There are no guitar solos, riffs are simple, screaming has been turned down a notch and there is no aggression. It almost looks like the band has shifted to nu-metal full time and left the heavy behind. If “Over It” reminds you of something Linking Park would do, don’t worry, you’re not the only one.
One could also argue that the lyrics of the song are generic, cliché and predictable. “Breathe in breathe out/ I feel it coming round again/ Breathe in breathe out/ Don’t wanna ride your carousel,” sounds like something we’ve heard thousand times before.
Still, there are few things that might make you like this song. The major remark on their previous effort Venom was that it didn’t have sing-alongs. With an effective and guitar-energizing chorus, “Over It” offers just that. Also, after a couple of repeats, the song begins to grow on you. So we recommend that you don’t give up on “Over It” after the first try.
With “Over It,” Bullet For My Valentine maybe alienated some of their fans, but they definitely gained new ones. Let’s just hope that the rest of Gravity finds the fine line between the wish to be more radio friendly and attempts to stay true to their roots.
