The post 2023 Billboard Music Awards: Taylor Swift & Morgan Wallen Top the List of Winners appeared first on Hot Pop Today.
]]>Swift picked up 10 awards at this year’s BBMAs, starting with the top artist. By doing so, she brought her total to 39 wins at the Billboard Music Awards, tying the record with Drake for most awards won by a single artist, after he picked up an additional five trophies on Sunday.
Swift tuned in via pre-recorded message from her latest The Eras Tour stop in Brazil and thanked her fans for making this triumph possible.
“Well, this is unreal. The fact that you guys have given me 10 Billboard Awards – I’m talking to the fans specifically. None of this happens without you… You made The Eras Tour so magical. You went and saw the movie, you cared about my re-recordings. I just love you so much,” said Swift.
Despite making history, Swift wasn’t the ceremony’s top-winning artist this year. Morgan Wallen collected a total of 11 awards, thanks to his hit album One Thing at the Time and its chart-topping hit “Last Night”. Drake walked away with five awards, followed by Zach Bryan and SZA with four each.

]]>Rodrigo picked up awards for the top new artist and top female artist, but also came out victorious in five more categories—the top Hot 100 artist, top streaming songs artist, top radio songs artist, top Billboard 200 Global artist, and top Billboard 200 album with Sour.
She was in the running for several awards in the song categories with “Good 4 U”, but lost many of them to “Stay” by The Kid Laroi and Justin Bieber, starting with the top Hot 100 song, top streaming song, and top Billboard Global 200 song.
Rodrigo also missed out on the top artist awards, which went to Drake. He managed to defeat Doja Cat, Taylor Swift, and The Weeknd to win the biggest award of the night. The Canadian rapper won another five BBMA Awards on Sunday, bringing his total to 34 and extending his record as the most-awarded artist in the show’s history.
The 2022 Billboard Music Awards took place on May 15 in Las Vegas’ MGM Grand Garden Arena, with Sean “Diddy” Combs hosting the ceremony.

The “Because of You” singer received five Billboard Music Awards nominations, before being honored with the Powerhouse Award at the annual Billboard Women in Music event in 2017. She was recruited to host this ceremony for the first time a year later.
Clarkson has proven herself as an amazing host in both 2018 and 2019 when she opened the ceremony by performing a mash-up of year’s biggest hits. We’re yet to see if she’s going to do the same this year, when Billboard Music Awards air live on NBC on April 29th.

]]>The 2019 edition of Billboard Music Awards will take place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. It will be broadcasted live on NBC on May 1. We can’t wait for Billboard to unveil the list of nominees and performers, but the show is already shaping up to be amazing.
Clarkson is, once again, approaching her hosting duty with a lot of enthusiasm, and she can’t wait to be back on that stage. Last year was super-fun, but The Voice coach will be turning things up a notch this time around, and she can’t wait to celebrate all of her amazing fellow artists.
Billboard Music Awards will come shortly after Kelly Clarkson wraps up her latest tour Meaning of Life on March 30 in Greenville. She’s scheduled to perform a total of 28 shows in various cities across the United States.

]]>The post 2023 Billboard Music Awards: Taylor Swift & Morgan Wallen Top the List of Winners appeared first on Hot Pop Today.

]]>The Canadian singer dominated this year’s Billboard Music Awards ceremony and won an impressive 10 awards. This included nods as Top Artist, Top R&B Album for After Hours, and Top Hot 100 Song for “Blinding Lights.”
During his acceptance speeches, The Weeknd looked to be in a great mood, deciding to drop a few nuggets about his plans for the future. After receiving the Top Artist award, he hinted at the end of the After Hours era by thanking God for not having “to wear that red suit again.”
The “Starboy” singer also teased new music while accepting the Top Hot 100 Song award. Before leaving the stage, he proclaimed that “the After Hours are done, and the dawn is coming.”
Other music acts that won big at the 2021 Billboard Music Awards were the late rapper Pop Smoke, Latin superstar Bad Bunny, and K-pop sensation BTS.
Pop Smoke won five awards, including Top New Artist and Top Billboard 200 Album for Shoot for the Stars, Aim for the Moon. Bad Bunny won four awards from six Latin categories, while BTS also got four, including Top Duo/Group and Top Selling Song for “Dynamite.”

]]>Clarkson announced the news in an official statement and said she’s thrilled to be back with her Billboard family. She described the Billboard Music Awards as “an event that celebrates our greatest artists and entertains our fans”, and added she loves being a part of it.

Drake’s big victory on May 1 allowed him to make Billboard Music Awards history. With a career total of 27 trophies, he surpassed the previous champion Taylor Swift to become the top award recipient in the history of this ceremony.
