Killer Mike’s Michael was one of the contenders for album of the year along with the likes of Jaguar II by Victoria Monét, Coming Home by Usher, Pink Friday 2 by Nicki Minaj, For All the Dogs Scary Hours Edition by Drake, and eventually defeated them all to take the biggest award of the night home.

Despite losing the album of the year award, Victoria Monét still emerged as one of the BET Awards’ biggest winners and walked away with the coveted video of the year award for “On My Mama”.
