October is slowly coming to an end, and its last week was an embarrassment of riches in terms of new music. Lady Gaga returned with a new single “Disease”, giving us the week’s buzziest new song, but Halsey, Tyler, the Creator, and Alessia Cara also surprised us with epic new tunes.

After dropping hints about her next album for quite some time, Lady Gaga has finally given us a taste of things to come. “Disease” sees her embracing the dark pop vibes and it’s a return to form for the singer, which drew comparisons to one of her biggest hits, “Bad Romance”.

Lady Gaga isn’t the only major star to drop a major single from her next studio album this week. Tyler, the Creator teased Chromakopia with the music video for “Noid”, while Alessia Cara announced the release of her upcoming album Love & Hyperbole with “(Isn’t It) Obvious”.

This week also marked the release of several highly-anticipated albums, starting with Halsey’s long-awaited The Great Impersonator. The songs on this album are a love letter to artists who inspired her over the years, including “Panic Attack”, which sees her paying homage to Stevie Nicks.

Our list also includes new music by Megan Thee Stallion, Summer Walker, Kelsea Ballerini, Bastille, Pixies, and Disclosure, so check it out to discover your favorite new tracks.

Lady Gaga – “Disease”

Tyler, the Creator – “Noid”

Halsey – “Panic Attack”

July is shaping up to be a great month for music, and our favorite artists kept giving us amazing new tracks this week. Childish Gambino, Jorja Smith, and Amaarae are leading our list of the best new songs of the week, along with Khalid, Alessia Cara, and Paris Paloma.

This Friday marked the release of Childish Gambino’s soundtrack album Bando Stone & the New World, and she found a perfect way to promote it. “In the Night” was released as its second single, and the Grammy-winning rapper found the best partners in crime in Jorja Smith and Amaarae.

This is only one of two collaborations to make the cut this week, and we were equally impressed by James Bay’s “Up All Night” featuring The Lumineers and Noah Kahan.

Some of our favorite indie bands also returned with new albums this week. Glass Animals unleashed I Love You So F***ing Much and gave us ten brand-new songs, including “Show Pony”. Highly Suspect dropped As Above, So Below, and “Plastic Boxes” emerged as one of their best new songs.

It’s been a good week for alternative music overall, with Wallows and Paris Paloma also making the cut, but we made sure to also put new songs by Benson Boone, Jade, Khalid, and Alessia Cara in the mix.

Childish Gambino – “In the Night” ft. Jorja Smith & Amaarae

Glass Animals – “Show Pony”

Benson Boone – “Death Wish Love”

Jade – “Angel of My Dreams”

Khalid – “Ground”

Paris Paloma – “The Warmth”

James Bay – “Up All Night” (with The Lumineers & Noah Kahan)

Alessia Cara – “Dead Man”

Wallows – “Bad Remake”

Highly Suspect – “Plastic Boxes”

Alessia Cara surprised us with new EP This Summer a few weeks ago, and gave us one of the best songs from the record with “Rooting for You”. This relatable tune just got a music video that perfectly captures its message.

Cara’s new video sheds a light on a series of disappointments we all went through – some more serious than the others. Whether it’s losing your job, dealing with relationship issues or simply burning the cookies that you tried to make without a recipe, we’re pretty sure you’ll find a situation you relate to in this video.

Alessia Cara discussed this song during a recent appearance on Jimmy Fallon’s show and explained it’s all about mourning the opportunity to build a good relationship that looked promising in the beginning, before taking a turn for the worst.

“I feel like it’s a similar situation that we all kind of go through where we are having, like, a friendship with someone or maybe a relationship or whatever.  And you think it’s going great, and then it takes a turn,” said the Grammy-winning singer.

Alessia Cara is a woman of many talents, and her latest single sees her performing in a brand-new language. “Querer Mejor” is her first song in Spanish, and Colombian superstar Juanes helped her deliver it.

This wasn’t the first time this duo partnered up. They previously performed a bilingual version of hit song “1-800-273-8255”, during the 2017 Latin Grammy Awards.

“Querer Mejor” was born out of Cara’s love for Latin music, and it’s her first-ever Spanish-language track.

“I’ve always loved Latin music, so getting to dabble in that realm with such a legend is pretty amazing. And getting his stamp of approval on my Spanish pronunciation wasn’t so bad either,” said Cara in official press release.

Juanes couldn’t wait to work with the young singer because the joy she finds in music is contagious, and he’s very proud of the song they recorded together.

“It brought even more of a connection in how well our voices naturally fit together on this soulful and uplifting song. I am very proud to be the artist she chose to sing with in Spanish for the first time,” said Colombian singer.

The video for their first joint single was filmed in various streets, rooftops, and theaters throughout Madrid.

Alessia Cara is one of the most emotionally raw artists working today, and she stayed true to herself in new music video for her heartbreaking song “Out of Love”.

The emotional video for her latest single is not easy to watch if you’ve ever ended up parting ways with a person who meant the world to you. It shows Cara hovering over several couples who are growing distant and slowly falling out of love with each other.

“Out of Love” was inspired by the singer’s friend who was going through a breakup, and it shows all the subtle little signs that remind us that the end is near. Whether it is letting go of your lover’s hand or staying silent in their presence, there’s no point in denying the inevitable once it becomes clear that you no longer belong together.

“Out of Love” is one of the singles from Cara’s sophomore album The Pains of Growing. The young singer is currently touring with fellow Canadian pop star Shawn Mendes, and getting ready for her own headlining tour.
