The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame is gearing up to announce the Class of 2025, and we finally know who’ll be on this year’s ballot. The list of candidates for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction has been announced, and it includes the likes of Mariah Carey, Oasis, Cyndi Lauper, and The White Stripes.

An artist becomes eligible for Rock & Roll Hall of Fame nomination 25 years after the release of their first commercial recording, and many of this year’s candidates happen to be first-timers. That happens to be the case with the English rock supergroup Bad Company, blues-rockers The Black Crowes, early rock n’ roll legend Chubby Checker, blues singer Joe Cocker, punk rocker Billy Idol, Mexican rockers Maná, and hip-hop duo Outkast.

The list of 14 acts vying for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction also includes the powerhouse singer Mariah Carey, post-punk pioneers Joy Division/New Order, dance-pop legend Cyndi Lauper, jam band Phish, grunge hitmakers Soundgarden, the rock duo The White Stripes, and Britpop band Oasis, who recently reunited for the sold-out Oasis Live ’25 Tour.

Nominees will be voted on by a committee of 1,200 artists, historians, and music industry professionals. The Class of 2025 will be announced in late April, while the induction ceremony will take place in Los Angeles this fall.

Taylor Swift has given us one of the year’s buzziest songs with “Fortnight” ft. Post Malone and she’s reaping the fruits of her labor. This smash hit helped her win seven trophies at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards, including her fifth award for the video of the year.

“Fortnight” was also named song of the summer, in addition to winning awards for best collaboration, editing, and direction. Swift brought the number of her wins to seven by winning two more awards on her own – artist of the year and best pop.

Despite collecting trophy after trophy all night long, “Fortnight” wasn’t named the song of the year. This award went to Sabrina Carpenter’s “Espresso”, who also managed to beat Beyoncé’s “Texas Hold ‘Em”, Jack Harlow’s “Lovin on Me”, Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us”, and Teddy Swims’ “Lose Control”.

The 2024 MTV VMAs took place at the UBS Arena in Elmont, New York, on September 11, with Megan Thee Stallion hosting the show for the first time.

The Hollywood Walk of Fame is mostly associated with film and television, but it also honored many of the world’s leading recording artists over the years. The list of 2025 inductees is in, and it includes Prince, Green Day, and Depeche Mode in the recording categories.

According to the Hollywood Walk of Fame chairman Peter Roth, “each honoree truly embodies the essence of excellence in their respective field” and they’re thrilled to announce the distinguished honorees who will grace the iconic Walk of Fame in 2025.

Legendary musician Prince, who passed away in 2016, is one of the most notable names on the list, and he’ll receive a posthumous star. He’s also been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and received numerous prestigious accolades during his tenure, including seven Grammys and an Academy Award.

Several of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees made it to the list of the Hollywood Walk of Fame honorees, including the English electronic band Depeche Mode, the punk legends Green Day, and the soul/funk group The Isley Brothers.

Fantasia, Los Bukis, The B-52s, Busta Rhymes, George Strait, Keith Urban, and War are also among the most recent recipients, and the dates of their Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremonies are yet to be set.

The Offspring remains one of the most active punk bands working today, and they’ll soon share another studio album with the world. Their next record Supercharged is coming our way this October, and they teased its release with the lead single “Make It All Right”.

The punk-rock veterans will drop their next studio album on October 11, and there’s a reason why they felt that Supercharged was the perfect title for this record.

“We wanted this record to have pure energy – from the start to the finish! From the height of our aspirations to the depths of our struggles, we talk about it all on this record…in a way that celebrates the life that we share and where we are now,” said frontman Dexter Holland in a statement.

The lead single “Make It All Right” perfectly captures the sound they were aiming for, and Holland said it was inspired “by the people in our lives who make us feel strong when we are feeling low – our partners in crime who make us feel all right.”

Supercharged will have a runtime of 30:15, making it The Offspring’s shortest album to date. Its tracklist includes a total of ten songs, such as “The Fall Guy”, “Truth in Fiction”, and “Hanging by a Thread”.

March has finally approached its final week, and our favorite artists are wrapping it up in style! Beyoncé leads our list of the best songs of the week alongside Miley Cyrus following the release of Cowboy Carter, but Vampire Weekend, Twenty One Pilots, and St. Vincent also made the cut.

No album this week created more buzz than Beyoncé’s brilliant new record Cowboy Carter, which will change the way you look at country. Each of the 27 songs on Queen B’s barrier-breaking new album deserves a spot on our list, and we decided to go with “II Most Wanted” ft. Miley Cyrus.

Most mainstream artists made a smart decision and avoided releasing new singles to avoid competing with Beyoncé, but that didn’t stop indie acts from sharing new music with the world.

Some of our favorite alternative rock bands dropped new music this past week, starting with Vampire Weekend’s “Mary Boone”, Twenty One Pilots’ “Next Semester”, and Kings Of Leon’s “Split Screen”. Sum 41 bid farewell with their final album Heaven :x: Hell, which produced their latest single “Dopamine”.

As for the rest of our list for this week, you’ll find everything from Latin collaborations, including “It Was Always You” by Carin León and Leon Bridges and “BYAK” by Alvaro Diaz and Rauw Alejandro, St. Vincent’s “Flea” featuring Dave Grohl on the drums, and several girl power bops, such as Isabel LaRosa’s “Favorite” and Becky Hill’s “Outside of Love”.

Twenty One Pilots – “Next Semester”

St. Vincent – “Flea”

Vampire Weekend – “Mary Boone”

Beyoncé, Miley Cyrus – “II Most Wanted”

Kings Of Leon – “Split Screen”

Carin León, Leon Bridges – “It Was Always You”

Isabel LaRosa – “Favorite”

Becky Hill – “Outside of Love”

Sum 41 – “Dopamine”

Alvaro Diaz, Rauw Alejandro – “BYAK”

Lollapalooza hosted around 40 performers a day last year, and they’re getting ready to keep that trend going in 2024. This year’s lineup is as massive and star-studded as it gets and offers an impressive mix of different genres, ranging from hip-hop and R&B to rock and indie pop.

In addition to Blink-182, Tyler, The Creator, Hozier, SZA, and The Killers, hip-hop duo Future x Metro Boomin, K-pop group Stray Kids, art pop singer Melanie Martinez, and DJ Skrillex are also among this year’s headliners, prominently featured on the festival’s poster.

Deftones, Pierce the Veil, Two Door Cinema Club, Vince Staples, and Kesha will also make it to the Lollapalooza stage, along with the young rising stars The Last Dinner Party, Tate McRae, Conan Grey, Reneé Rapp, Victoria Monét, and Chappell Roan.

Lollapalooza will return to its iconic venue, Grant Park in Chicago, from August 1 through August 4. Day-by-day lineups will be announced at a later date, and tickets are already available for pre-sale.

Taylor Swift has given us one of the year’s buzziest songs with “Fortnight” ft. Post Malone and she’s reaping the fruits of her labor. This smash hit helped her win seven trophies at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards, including her fifth award for the video of the year.

Swift broke her own record when she won another video of the year award at the MTV VMAs for “Fortnight” ft. Post Malone. They had to beat tough competition in Ariana Grande’s “We Can’t Be Friends (Wait for Your Love)”, Billie Eilish’s “Lunch”, Doja Cat’s “Paint the Town Red”, Eminem’s “Houdini”, and SZA’s “Snooze” to take this award home.

Lollapalooza is heading back to Chicago’s Grant Park this summer, and this year’s lineup is one for the books. The list of performers has been unveiled, and Blink-182, Tyler, The Creator, Hozier, SZA, and The Killers will be in charge of headlining the festival.
