]]>Carrie, who took her entire family out on the road with her on her Cry Pretty 360 Tour, posted a hilarious video on Saturday of her husband, former NHL player Mike Fisher, singing Vince Gill’s “I Still Believe In You” to baby Jacob.
But while the former Nashville Predators captain’s crooning brings his little guy to tears, when mama Carrie starts singing, Jacob calms down!
“Everyone’s a critic,” the 36-year-old country superstar wrote on Instagram.
“The real reason is he was hungry and wanted your food. #notmysinging,” Fisher replied.
Others found the video quite funny as well, including Justin Timberlake, who declared that “This is the greatest thing I’ve seen all year.”

]]>The post Andrew McMahon Reminisces About Moving Homes as a Kid in New Song “Ohio” appeared first on Hot Pop Today.
]]>This break gave rise to his new song “Ohio,” which came out on Friday.
“In the midst of living the closest thing to a normal home life I could imagine for myself, I began to write,” he said. “Not for anything or anyone. There was no goal, no deadline, no story I was trying to tell. Just the hours in the day when Cecilia was off at school or everyone had gone to bed or whatever, that I felt like sitting in my little back house studio and making noises until they sounded like music.
“In the middle of it all this song appeared. I hadn’t intended to write it. It’s rare for me to dig so far into my memory, but in this case the call was not one that could go unanswered.”
In the song, Andrew recounts the story of his family’s move from Ohio to California when he and sister Katie were young children.
But what would normally be considered a rather pedestrian occurrence in the life of a family appears to have some dark undertones as McMahon sings: “We can’t look back / Some men you just can’t save / We had our reasons, for leaving / It’s better this way.”
Andrew has taken to social media to talk about the new song, but wasn’t keen to reveal the story behind the story of the song.
“If I’m being completely honest though, I don’t feel so desperately inclined to speak about ‘Ohio,'” he said.
He did offer one insight, noting: “I suppose it’s one thing to run away but it’s another be pulled down the road by what feels like the hand of fate. But there I go again, talking about a song.”

]]>A week ago, the country music superstar released “Cry Pretty,” the first single off her new album, and today she is unveiling the name, release date and cover for her new album of the same name.
Cry Pretty, Carrie’s 6th studio album, will come out on September 14th. In a video released with the announcement, the American Idol champ shared some behind-the-scenes footage from the making of the album, as well as discussed the leading single “Cry Pretty,” saying:
“Sometimes you get together and write a song that is kind of exactly what you’re feeling at that moment, and that was ‘Cry Pretty’ for me. I think ‘Cry Pretty’ sets the tone for the rest of the album, because it’s emotional, and it is real, but there’s also just some incredible musical moments in the song, and I feel like those things are things that go throughout the rest of the album.
“We have a lot of songs on [the album] that are definitely emotional and kind of soulful and real and raw. But there’s so much love and care and heart that has gone into writing these songs, putting music to these songs, and everything has been done in such a careful and loving way.”
She also talked about the writing and recording process and the fact she shoulders some of the production duties.
“Co-producing was … kind of a natural evolution. I had been working with David Garcia on the writing side of things, and we just really hit it off. The first song that we wrote together is on the album, so it was kind of like: ‘I like this guy, [I want to] write with him again.’
“And there’s certain chemistry that comes together when there’s a band there and everybody feeds off of each other. We got a lot of guys that I had worked with before, and some that I hadn’t and everybody brought it.”

]]>In a note to fans, the American Idol winner says her injury made her take some time off from her otherwise hectic schedule.
“One of the silver linings for me in this healing process is the time I’ve gotten to spend with Mike and Isaiah. I’ve been calling it ‘forced relaxation.’ Sometimes I think things happen in order to make us slow down,” she writes.
Carrie also made use of her time at home to write new music and even co-produce her new album, telling fans:
“I’ve been in the studio writing and singing a TON, but I’ve also been able to be creative in a way that I’ve never been before, which has been very fulfilling and empowering. While I was writing last year, I met a writer/producer named David Garcia. We hit it off in a big way and I’m excited to say that we are co-producing my album together.
“I’ve always been lucky to have a voice in the writing and recording process, but this is the first time I am this involved in the production of my music. It’s been challenging and incredibly rewarding to be involved in every aspect from start to finish. David has been an amazing teacher and partner, and I’m so proud of what we have created.”
While Carrie has yet to reveal the title or release date for her new album, she did release the first single off it, a song called “Cry Pretty,” which she wrote with Hillary Lindsey, Liz Rose, and Lori McKenna, who also write under the name Love Junkies.
“I joined one of their writing sessions last year to see if we could come up with some magic…and we did!” Carrie writes. “The title refers to when emotions take over and you just can’t hold them back. It really speaks to a lot of things that have happened in the past year and I hope when you hear it, you can relate those feelings to those times in your life. It’s emotional. It’s real. And it ROCKS!”

]]>The “Champion” singer has avoided sharing full, clear photos of her face in the months that have passed since, telling fans that she was “not quite looking the same” after her accident.
In January, she described the ordeal on her fan club’s site:
“There is also another part of the story that I haven’t been ready to talk about since I have still been living it and there has been much uncertainty as to how things will end up. In addition to breaking my wrist, I somehow managed to injure my face as well. I’ll spare you the gruesome details, but when I came out of surgery the night of my fall, the doctor told [husband] Mike that he had put between 40 and 50 stitches in.
“Now, here we are 7 weeks later and, even though I’ve had the best people helping me, I’m still healing and not quite looking the same. I honestly don’t know how things are going to end up but I do know this: I am grateful. I am grateful that it wasn’t much, much worse.”
In recent days, however, Underwood has gone back to work and shared snaps on her Instagram of her working in the studio and rehearsing with her band – showing a clear view of her face for the first time.
The 35-year-old singer from Oklahoma won the fourth season of American Idol in 2005. Since then, she has gained superstardom, with hits like “Before He Cheats,” “Jesus, Take The Wheel,” “Temporary Home” and the most recent sports anthem “Champion” ft. Ludacris.

]]>But a lot of today’s big country superstars could easily find their way to Top 40 radio, with listeners being none-the-wiser about their Nashville roots and southern accents.
One such singer is Sam Hunt. He doesn’t look, sound or act like the typical country cowboy stereotype. Much like other country artists, Hunt is a storyteller. Each song unfolds a different tale, every single one of them relatable on some level. But unlike his friends in Nashville, he doesn’t limit himself to singing in the classic sense of the word. Instead, he draws you in with some smooth R&B sounds and spoken verses.
His song, “Body Like A Back Road,” was one of the biggest crossover hits of 2017, peaking at #6 on Billboard’s US Adult Top 40 chart and hitting #8 in Billboard’s Hot 100 year-end chart. If that wasn’t enough, the song went 5 times platinum in the US, with over 1.8 million in sales.
While fans are eagerly awaiting his second album, here are 5 other great songs from his debut record Montevallo.
Hunt’s first crossover song “Take Your Time” was also a massive hit.
Hunt co-wrote this song for Keith Urban’s Fuse album, but couldn’t resist including his own version on Montevallo.
Breaking up is never easy, but it’s even harder when you live in a place so small you instantly know when your ex has moved on — and with who.
If you’re a home body, or you simply don’t feel like getting all dressed up and going out – not a problem. Sam Hunt will bring the party to you.
Everyone knows at least one person that never seems content with what they have, and constantly seeks the next shiny new thing. Well, Sam Hunt knows just how to deal with such girls: He’s going to make sure they remember him.
