English indie rockers Yuck have announced that they have split up. The announcement coincided with the 10th anniversary of their self-titled debut album.

Yuck shared the news via a statement posted on Instagram, writing that the band “will no longer be touring or making new music together.”

“We’ve released 3 albums together, and I’m so proud of everything we’ve achieved, but we all felt it was important to know when to draw the line,” the group added. “It wasn’t an easy thing to come to terms with.”

The news doesn’t come as a surprise, considering that Yuck hasn’t been active lately. The band’s most recent album came out in 2016 and they played live shows sporadically.

Yuck was formed in 2009 by members of Cajun Dance Party Max Bloom and Daniel Blumberg. The group recruited drummer Jonny Rogoff and bassist Mariko Doi and released their debut album in 2011. The record received acclaim from the critics, with their sound being compared to The Smashing Pumpkins and Sonic Youth.

Blumberg departed the group in 2013 and was replaced by guitarist Ed Hayes. The new lineup released albums Glow & Behold and Stranger Things alongside 2014’s EP Southern Skies. These releases were not as popular as their debut and have received mixed reviews.
