]]>This week has been pretty slow for new album releases, but that didn’t stop Royal Blood from sharing the bonus edition of their latest studio album Back to the Water Below. They marked the occasion by releasing the bonus track “Supermodel Avalanches” on streaming services.
As A-list stars took a break from releasing new songs ahead of Christmas, our favorite indie artists seized the moment to shine in the spotlight. Tom Odell made it to our list with the new single “The End”, along with Charlotte Plank’s “Redline” and Hollow Coves’ “On the Way”.
It was also a pretty great week for international artists from all around the globe, from South Korea to Puerto Ricco. Anuel AA made the cut with the new song “Luces Tenues”, Jimin of BTS continued his flourishing solo career with “Closer Than This”, while the Nigerian rapper Wizkid gave us another amazing collaboration with “Ololufe” ft. Wande Coal.

Ed Sheeran even accepted his award in person while visiting iHeartRadio in New York, and said it’s really, really, really cool to have their listeners so invested in his music.
“You always wonder every album whether you’re going to lose the kids, because I constantly have young people coming to my gigs. With ‘Shivers,’ all these kids keep coming up to me saying they like ‘Shivers,’ and I’m like, ‘Alright, I still got them,’” said Sheeran in a statement.
All five songs were released during the 2020s, and “Essence” by Wizkid and Tems has been around the longest, after being released in October 2020. “Shivers”, “Big Energy”, and “Woman” were all released in 2021, while Jack Harlow’s “First Class” reached one billion spins during the shortest time frame, after hitting the shelves in April last year.
