]]>Pop performed the cover with the help of special guests, being joined by Guns N’ Roses’ bassist Duff McKagan and the Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith on stage.
Reed released David Bowie-produced “Walk On The Wild Side” in 1972, and it soon became his signature song and arguably his biggest hit. Pop was close friends with both Reed and Bowie, and covering the track was most likely his way of honoring the two music legends.
Iggy Pop released Everyday Loser back in January, earning generally positive reviews from the critics. As part of promotional activities, he formed a star-studded backing band consisting of McKagan, Smith, ex-RHPC guitarist Josh Klinghoffer, and Grammy Award-winning producer and multi-instrumentalist Andrew Watt.
Pop will have another show in LA as part of the tour while also making stops in San Francisco, Hollywood, and Las Vegas. He is then set to embark on a summer trip to Europe, where he’ll play a series of festival and solo shows.
