]]>Prelude to Ecstasy debuted at No. 1 with 32,800 chart units earned in its first week. This is quite an achievement for this all-girl indie band and marks the biggest opening week for a debut album by a band since 2015 when Years & Years earned 55,000 chart units with Communion.
Prelude to Ecstasy did exceptionally well on vinyl, with 14,000 copies sold during its debut week. This makes it the fastest-selling debut album by a group on vinyl this century.
Prelude to Ecstasy was released on February 2, and it was preceded by several hit singles, including “Nothing Matters”, “Sinner”, “My Lady of Mercy”, “On Your Side”, and “Caesar on a TV Screen”.
The Last Dinner Party was formed by Abigail Morris, Lizzie Mayland, Emily Roberts, Georgia Davies, and Aurora Nishevci in 2021. They’ve recently been announced as recipients of the Rising Star Award at this year’s Brit Awards, beating Caity Baser and Sekou.

]]>It’s been a pretty slow week for new album releases, but The Last Dinner Party still managed to rock our world with their debut album Prelude to Ecstasy. The British indie girl band has given us a pretty impressive collection of twelve amazing songs, including the defiant “The Feminine Urge”.
This week also marked the release of Billy Joel’s comeback single “Turn the Lights Back On”. This romantic ballad marks his first song in two decades, and it was definitely worth the wait!
Our list is also a true treat for fans of hip-hop, with several leading artists making the cut this week. Don Toliver impressed us with “Bandit”, 24kGoldn rocked our world with “Clarity”, while DaBaby joined forces with That Mexican OT for “Point Em Out”.
We also picked out several more amazing collaborations worth putting on your playlist, including “Ruin” by Usher and Pheelz, “Happier” by The Blessed Madonna and Clementine Douglas, and “Cigarettes & Wine” by Del Water Gap and Holly Humberstone.

]]>Despite giving us many amazing new songs, this week has been pretty slow in terms of new album releases. That didn’t stop Lewis Capaldi from dropping an extended edition of his sophomore album Broken by Desire to Be Heavenly Sent, which features five brand-new tracks, including “Strangers”.
Several songs on our list serve as the intrude for some of the most highly-anticipated new albums hitting the shelves this winter. That happens to be the case with “One Eyed Bastard” from Green Day’s Saviors and “Caesar on a TV Screen” from The Last Dinner Party’s Prelude to Ecstasy.
As for the rest of our list this week, we made sure to include a perfect mix of different genres, so everyone can find a song that suits their taste. Country fans can discover new music by Gabby Barrett, hip-hop lovers will enjoy 24kGoldn’s “Good Intentions”, while those who prefer Latin sound can vibe to Luis R Conriquez and Peso Pluma.

]]>If we had to pick the most talked-about new track to hit the shelves this Friday, it would definitely be “Now and Then”, billed as The Beatles’ “final song”. Five decades in the making, this song utilized modern technology to reunite the members of the legendary band for one last time.
November 3 also marked the release of Jungkook’s long-awaited solo album Golden. It’s the most complete record any member of BTS released on their own, and it already produced several hit songs – and we’re expecting great things from its latest single “Standing Next to You”.
