]]>Obama took a moment to reflect on the most thought-provoking and inspiring songs, movies and books he loved in 2018 and highlighted talented authors, artists, and storytellers who impressed him in the last 12 months.
The list of his favorite songs featured a couple of obvious choices we should’ve seen coming, but he also used this opportunity to mention a few artists who deserved more recognition. Some of the already established performers who made the cut were the Carters, Cardi B and Janelle Monáe.
Obama also took a moment at the end of his list to honor jazz legend Nancy Wilson, who passed away a couple weeks ago. Wilson recorded more than 70 albums and won three Grammy Awards over the course of her amazing career spanning over five decades.
