]]>The song is short and sweet, clocking at just over a minute, and comes with an animated music video directed by Adam Paloian and Chris “Oney” O’Neill. It tells the story of a person who claims they don’t play video games anymore but actually does it a lot.
“It’s about growing up and leaving childish things behind… but then realizing that video games are more than just mindless toys,” said the band in a press release. “In fact, they can be a true expression of huge ideas that belong in the pantheon of great works of art! “
Tenacious D hasn’t released any original music since their fourth studio album Post-Apocalypto, which came out in 2018. The band did, however, present a series of covers in recent years, including their version of “Time Warp” from the 1973’s musical The Rocky Horror Show.
Black and Gass are currently wrapping up the Tenacious D U.S. tour, after which they are set to play a series of festivals and solo shows in Europe.

]]>The tour will officially start on September 25th in Davenport, Iowa, and will see the band playing cities like Cincinnati, Washington, Philadelphia, before wrapping up the trip in New York on October 9th. The band also revealed that their Washington gig would also feature a performance of a 75-piece American symphony orchestra Soulful Symphony.
Tenacious D’s most recent studio release was 2018’s Post-Apocalypto. Black recently announced that the follow-up is in work, and should be expected “sometime after 2020.”

There is a political connotation to Tenacious D’s tour as the band will focus on the cities in the so-called “swing states” in order to support candidates that could face current US president Donald Trump at the upcoming presidential elections. In these swing states, both Republican and Democratic parties have similar support, and often the candidates that prevail in them end up winning the elections.
