The MTV Video Music Awards are one of the most exciting award ceremonies coming our way this September, and the list of contenders is finally here. Taylor Swift and Post Malone topped the list of nominations thanks to the success of their collaboration “Fortnight”.

The list of contenders for the video of the year is pretty impressive, and “Fortnight” is leading the way along with Ariana Grande’s “We Can’t Be Friends (Wait for Your Love)”, Billie Eilish’s “Lunch”, Doja Cat’s “Paint the Town Red”, Eminem’s “Houdini”, and SZA’s “Snooze”.

Taylor Swift and Post Malone’s collaboration also emerged as one of the front-runners for the song of the year, but no other track nominated for the video of the year managed to make the cut. “Beyoncé’s “Texas Hold ‘Em”, Jack Harlow’s “Lovin on Me”, Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us”, Sabrina Carpenter’s “Espresso”, and Teddy Swims’ “Lose Control” are in the running instead.

“Fortnight” is also a contender for best collaboration, and it’s in the running for best visual effects, editing, direction, art direction, and cinematography. It helped Swift secure ten nominations, followed by Post Malone with nine, while Ariana Grande, Sabrina Carpenter, and Eminem scored six each.

The first days of summer are officially upon us, and our favorite artists welcomed the new season with open arms. This Friday has been an epic day for new releases, and it’s given us new albums by Gracie Abrams and Kehlani, plus new songs by Coldplay, Maren Morris, and Julia Michaels.

Several major artists chose June 21 as the release date of their new albums, starting with Kehlani, who knocked us off our feet with Crash. It was also a great week for Gracie Abrams, who released her sophomore album The Secret of Us, and stirred quite a commotion with the A-list collaboration “Us.” feat. Taylor Swift.

It was a great week for amazing collaborations overall, and quite a few made it to our list. Maren Morris and Julia Michaels proved they’re a match made in heaven with “Cut!”, while Jamie xx and Robyn joined forces for “Life”.

It’s also been a great week for remixes of songs we already know and love. Ariana Grande did the most meta thing ever and invited Brandy and Monica to hop on a remix of “The Boy is Mine”, while Charli XCX recorded a new version of “Girl, So Confusing” alongside Lorde.

Check out the rest of our list to discover new music by Coldplay, Lola Young, Suki Waterhouse, and The Japanese House.

Gracie Abrams – “Us.” feat. Taylor Swift

Kehlani – “Crash”

Maren Morris & Julia Michaels – “Cut!”

Jamie xx – “Life” feat. Robyn

Charli XCX – “Girl, So Confusing” ft. Lorde

Ariana Grande, Brandy, Monica – “The Boy is Mine”

Coldplay – “feelslikeimfallinginlove”

Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour created quite a splash when it hit the theatres back in October and it’s still pushing boundaries. After almost three months in theatres, this groundbreaking project crossed $261.6 million at the global box office, officially becoming the highest-grossing concert film of all time.

Filmed over the course of the three shows that Swift performed at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California last summer, this concert film was meant to encapsulate the energy of her record-breaking The Eras Tour. It knocked it out of the park before even hitting the theaters, earning over $100 million from global pre-sales alone.

Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour is still going strong almost three months after its premiere on October 13, 2023. Swift decided to release the extended version on VOD on December 13, but this concert film is still going strong overseas, especially in China.

Following its Chinese debut on December 31, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour grossed around $8.7 million in this market and set another major box office record. With $261.6 million grossed at the global box office, Taylor Swift set a new record for the highest-grossing concert film of all time, surpassing Michael Jackson’s This Is It.

Taylor Swift has landed her first televised gig following the release of her new album Lover.

The first artist that has been announced to perform at the 2019 MTV Video Music Awards is pop sensation, Taylor Swift. The news that the 29-year-old singer is set to take the stage was announced by the network Wednesday.

It is still unknown which songs Swift will perform, but it’s safe to assume that tracks from her most recent seventh studio album, which releases three days prior, will be featured heavily in the set.

This is the first time Swift return to the VMAs stage since her 2015 performance of “Bad Blood.” Swift is also tied with Ariana Grande for the most nominations, with 10 nods.

The awards show will take place on August 26 and will be broadcast live from Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.
