]]>Mark Owen, Howard Donald, and Gary Barlow released their latest album as Take That on November 24. They reunited as a trio in 2014, without Jason Orange and Robbie Williams, and this is their third album together after III in 2014 and Wonderland in 2017.
With 116,000 chart units sold in its first seven days, This Life easily topped the UK Albums Chart, becoming Take That’s ninth No. 1 album. It also became the fastest-selling record by a British act, surpassing Lewis Capaldi’s Broken By Desire to Be Heavenly Sent, which earned 95,000 chart units during its first week.
Owen, Donald, and Barlow told Official Charts that they’re grateful to hit No. 1 with This Life, and they’re now turning their attention to their upcoming tour.
“Thank you to our fans from the bottom of our hearts for every bit of love they’ve shown us this year, whether it was coming for a singalong at BST Hyde Park in the summer or streaming and buying the album this week… We cannot wait to take this show on the road,” they said in a statement.

]]>Despite not being British performers, both Richie and Perry go a long way back with King Charles. Richie serves as the first chairman of the Global Ambassador Group for The Prince’s Trust since 2019, while Perry was appointed as the ambassador of his charity The British Asian Trust.
British pop group Take That will also grace the stage, with Gary Barlow, Howard Donald, and Mark Owen confirming their performance without Robbie Williams.
“This will be our first live show since the Odyssey Tour, four years ago in 2019, and what a stage to come back on! A huge live band and orchestra, a choir, military drummers, the backdrop of Windsor Castle and the celebration of a new King. We can’t wait,” said Take That in a statement.
The list of performers also includes Italian opera singer Andrea Bocelli, Welsh bass-baritone Sir Bryn Terfel, the English singer multi-instrumentalist Freya Ridings, and classical-soul composer-producer Alexis Ffrench. They’ll all perform at King Charles III’s coronation concert on May 7.

]]>Barlow tweeted a clarification message on Twitter after hinting the band could not complete their Odyssey tour on an Instagram live message earlier on.
Just for clarity re my instagram live last week – At the moment it’s going to be difficult to take our Odyssey tour to our fans in Australia, Asia and South America as hoped, but I can assure you our UK and European dates are 100% going ahead and have never been in question.

In an interview with The Mirror, Barlow said he had opted for European and UK performances to stay close to a close family member who had just gotten ill.
“We had a big ambition next year to do a world tour, but I have actually got an illness in my family and it means I am not going to travel for the next two years extensively,” Barlow said. “So, all the plans for South America and Australia that were coming off…I thank my two bandmates who have been so very understanding but I just have to be at home—I cannot leave.
Besides the UK and European tours, Barlow will team up with veteran musical author Tim Rice to write a movie.
