From chart-topping bangers to underground sensations, our list of the best songs of the week always has it all. We had a more challenging time than ever narrowing down our choices this week after everyone from Bad Bunny and Lana Del Rey to Beyoncé and Summer Walker gave us fresh new tracks.

This week marked the release of several highly-anticipated albums, and we made sure to include their best tracks on our list. Summer Walker rocked our world with Clear 2: Soft Life, while Kesha surprised us with some of her most personal and raw songs to date on Gag Order.

Beyoncé is currently in the middle of her headline-making Renaissance tour, but that didn’t stop her from dropping the remix of “America Has a Problem” with Kendrick Lamar.

We’ve also seen several artists tase their new albums by dropping brand-new songs, including Post Malone, Foo Fighters, and Blur. They all announced new LPs in the past few weeks and gave us a taste of things to come with new singles.

Several surprise releases also made it to our list, ranging from Bad Bunny’s “Where She Goes” to Lana Del Rey’s “Say Yes To Heaven”, so make sure to add them to your playlist!

Blur – “The Narcissist”

Summer Walker – “Pull Up”

Conan Gray – “Never Ending Song”

Kesha – “Only Love Can Save Us Now”

Lana Del Rey – “Say Yes To Heaven”

It’s been four years since Summer Walker dropped her debut EP Clear, and its follow-up is on the way. The R&B singer announced she’s getting ready to drop a new EP titled Clear 2: Soft Life, set to hit the shelves next month.

Clear 2: Soft Life will be released on May 19 via LVRN and Interscope Records. She previously teased this project while chatting with Billboard, and said she wants it to be longer than its predecessor, which featured four tracks: “Riot,” “Grave,” “Wasted” and “Settling”.

“The last one was like four songs. This one – I want it to be a lot longer so I can really get that sound out. That’s my favorite type of sound. I make what I got to make for the radio, but I’m very excited for [Clear 2]. Hopefully, my budget will be permitted,” she told Billboard.

Just a few months after dropping Clear, Walker released her first album Over It, which earned the biggest streaming week ever for an R&B album by a woman at the time, even surpassing the debut week of Beyoncé’s Lemonade. Its follow-up Still Over It came out in 2021, and it became Walker’s first album to debut atop the Billboard 200 chart.

Summer Walker is one of the rising R&B stars you should keep an eye on in 2020, and she joined forces with a couple of our favorite artists in the past. Her latest music video for “Come Thru” sees her teaming up with none other than Usher.

The Lacey Duke-directed video hits close to home as it was filmed in Atlanta, Georgia – the city where both of the singers grew up. The duo can be seen hanging around several spots in Atlanta, most notably 285 Flea Market where most of the video has been shot.

The video also features a cameo from Usher’s frequent collaborator Jermaine Dupri, while London on Da Track, who produced the song, can be seen alongside Walker. “Come Thru” originally came out on October 3rd, 2019 and peaked at no. 42 on Billboard Hot 100.

We can easily see it climbing higher after this video, and even becoming Walker’s best-charting song to date. That honor currently belongs to her single “Playing Games” which peaked at no. 16 on Billboard Hot 100.

2019 had seen many young artists suddenly appearing out of nowhere and immediately knocking it out of the park. We added more new names to our playlist than ever before, but these five artists really made the biggest splash.

Lil Nas X

This time last year, Lil Nas X had been living with his sister after dropping out of college. His life turned upside down after his breakout hit “Old Town Road” broke new grounds by spending 19 consecutive weeks on the top spot of Billboard Hot 100.

Lizzo

It’s really a shame that it took this long for the world to discover Lizzo since her biggest hits came out years ago. Her time to shine is finally here, and her journey to the top of the charts is truly inspiring.

Megan Thee Stallion

Megan Thee Stallion gave us one of the catchiest songs (and most popular hashtags) of the year with “Hot Girl Summer” and we’re looking forward to seeing what she’s going to do next.

Ava Max

Ava Max dropped one of the biggest radio hits of the year with “Sweet but Psycho” and her singles “So Am I” and “Torn” have proven she’s no one-hit-wonder.

Summer Walker

Summer Walker’s debut album Over It peaked at no. 2 on Billboard 200 chart, and her hit single “Playing Games” is the sign of bigger things to come.

“My first album OVER IT coming xx/xx/19,” she captioned a video of herself writing OVER IT out in red lipstick on a mirror. According to Billboard, while Walker didn’t give away an exact date, fans can expect the LP to arrive before the year’s out.
