]]>Just by hearing the opening beats of the songs, you’ll realize that “Sucker Punch” is a lot different than most of her other efforts. Sigrid brushes off the moodiness and instead keeps the uplifting atmosphere and adventurous spirit from start to the end of the track.
After playful two verses, the chorus kicks in and gets you hooked immediately. Simple, powerful and “punchy,” it delivers some of the song’s best moments. No matter how high the volume is, you’ll want it to get a bit higher to feel the contagious energy in Sigrid’s voice.
“Sucker Punch” seems like it is destined to be her next hit, and rightfully so. While production does sound a bit generic and too similar to the modern pop sound, which is something Sigrid has managed to avoid so far, it still isn’t overwhelming to a point where this would bother you.
Those who love Sigrid’s slow ballads, or have met her trough cover of Leonard Cohen’s “Everybody Knows,” might have a hard time adjusting to this energetic version of her. But if you give it a chance, you definitely won’t regret.
