]]>This week has been pretty slow for new album releases in the US, but our favorite K-pop artists have been pretty busy. The boy band Stray Kids returned with another mixtape Hop, which produced 12 brand-new songs, including the lead single “Walkin on Water”.
It has also been a pretty great week for the English DJ and producer Fred Again, who released his new EP Two More Days. This is his second major release of 2024, following the success of his fourth studio album Ten Days, and it features two new songs, including “Light Dark Light” ft. Angie McMahon.
The rest of our list for this week mainly consists of indie artists, and it will probably introduce you to many new names. Julien Baker is one of the rare major stars to make the cut, with the Torres collaboration “Sugar in the Tank”, along with Olly Alexander with his new song “Archangel”.
Check out the rest of our list to discover new music by Benjamin Booker, Oracle Sisters, Clara La San, SAINt JHN, Banks, and Horsegirl.

]]>As part of the Step Out series, which is released on an annual basis, Stray Kids members reflect on their achievements in the past year while also sharing plans for the upcoming year. The newest entry to the series saw the group remember their best moments from 2023, including a show at Lollapalooza Paris and winning the “Best K Pop Award” at MTV Music Video Awards.
Later in the clip, Stray Kids laid out plans for “WHAT’S NEXT,” mentioning “THE 3RD WORLD TOUR,” “THE 4TH FANMEETING,” and “1 ALBUM & 1 SPECIAL ALBUM RELEASE.”
Stray Kids had a massively successful 2023, releasing the extended play Rock-Star and a full studio album 5-Star, both of which topped the US Billboard 200 charts. The group was also honored with a Prime Minister’s Commendation at the Korean Popular Culture and Arts Awards in October.
Stray Kids are currently slated to perform in Paris, France, on January 26 at the Le Gala des Pièces Jaunes charity event. The show will also feature an appearance by BLACKPINK’s Lisa.

]]>5-Star had an epic first week and easily defeated the competition with 249,500 equivalent album units earned. This is the fourth largest week for an album in 2023 overall, and the largest one when looking at pure album sales alone since they compromise for 235,000 of the album’s units.
5-Star hit the shelves on June 2, and Stray Kids used the lead single “S-Class” to promote its arrival. The success of their latest LP is quite impressive, but they’re no newcomers to the Billboard 200 chart. They previously hit No. 1 twice last year, with their EPs Oddinary and Maxident.
As for the rest of the Billboard 200 chart this week, Morgan Wallen’s former chart-topper One Thing at a Time is still going strong, and it returned to No. 2 this week. It was also a big week for the country star Jelly Roll, who scored his first No. 3 album with Whitsitt Chapel. Enhypen were a part of the K-pop takeover this week and hit No. 4 with Dark Blood.
