She brings up her emotions so well, and she’s so descriptive about how she feels, it encouraged us in a lot of ways to be more open with who we are and what we think – as opposed to thinking about a general population and just trying to make something that everybody likes,” said Foster.

Members of this pop duo have actually been working with Grande ever since 2015, and they served as co-writers of her biggest hits “Thank U, Next” and “7 Rings”. They’ve also served as the opening act during her ongoing Sweetener world tour, and that’s exactly where she approached them with the idea to record “Boyfriend”.
