Zayn’s sophomore album Icarus Falls” came out a month ago. Now, the former One Direction singer surprised as with another striking video from this hit record. “Satisfaction” is a heartbreaking exploration of love, loss, and rebirth that will bring you to tears in four minutes or less.

The poetic video for this slow-burning ballad was directed by Bouha Kazmi, who was also in charge of helming the video for Zayn’s biggest hit “Pillowtalk”. This short clip centers on a romance plagued by the hardships of war and Malik only makes a brief cameo, letting story to unfold.

The video opens with a quote “Until the flower of this love has blossomed this heart won’t be at peace”, which was previously featured in the song “Flower” from his debut album Mind of Mine”. Despite its tragic theme, Zayn’s latest single comes to a satisfying ending, sending a hopeful message about rebirth.

“Satisfaction” shows two lovers going back and forth through both good and bad times. That’s why some of the fans believe Zayn used his real life break up with Gigi Hadid as inspiration for this video, but the young singer never confirmed these rumours.
