]]>Directed by Swift herself, the short movie stars Sadie Sink and Dylan O’Brien, who were the singer’s first and only choice for these roles. They play a young couple, whose relationship turns from sweet to toxic as they get to know each other better, before eventually deciding they’re not right for each other and going their separate ways.
“All Too Well” was originally released in 2012, and became a surprising fan favorite, but Swift admitted she was always surprised by its immense success.
“I never imagined that would happen because it wasn’t a single, and it didn’t have a video, all these kinds of ways that I was taught music permeated culture… I thought it was too dark, too sad, too intense, just too many things,” Swift previously told Rolling Stone.
The “All Too Well” short film accompanies the release of Red (Taylor’s Version), which hit the shelves on November 12th. It already broke several major streaming records and became the most-streamed album in a day from a female artist on Spotify.
