According to the press release, The Roy Orbison & Buddy Holly: The Rock ’N’ Roll Dream Tour will kick off in October in Ireland and will feature a live band, backing singers, as well as remastered audio of duo’s works. The tour is then set to visit 12 cities in the United Kingdom before wrapping up in London on October 24. The dates for North America and Europe leg of the tour are expected to be announced soon.

“My father’s music meant the world to not just us Orbison’s but to millions of fans worldwide. Being able to reopen his legendary songbook and again hear his voice bounce off great concert hall walls is both a transcendent and cathartic experience,” – said president of Roy Orbison Music Roy Orbison, Jr. in a release. “Dad jammed with Buddy in Lubbock Texas and helped change music history by turning Buddy on to Norman Petty Studios; Buddy later returned the favor by recording two of Dad’s songs on his first Cricket’s album. How beyond cool and special that these two great friends, now get to tour the world together.”

“Their long-time fans and a new generation of fans will now have the opportunity to see these great legends perform together in a unique setting, showcasing two of the finest, most influential, and beloved artists in music history,” – added Holly’s wife Maria Elena Holly.

Besides Buddy Holly and Roy Orbison, other late musicians who will get their hologram tours in 2019 include legendary American musician Frank Zappa and British singer Amy Winehouse.

The Roy Orbison hologram tour, which debuted in Europe earlier in the year, announced 28 live shows scheduled across North America. The tour, titled In Dreams: Roy Orbison in Concert – The Hologram Tour, will kick off on October 1st in Oakland, California and wrap up on November 19th in Clearwater, Florida.

These shows, set in theaters and performance arts centers, will feature a hologram projection of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame musician accompanied by a live orchestra.

“Our goal for this type of show is not just to play in major metropolitan cities, but to bring this experience to a variety of markets, regardless of size,” said Brian Becker, the founder, and CEO of BASE Entertainment and BASE Hologram.

“Roy loved playing smaller more intimate venues because he loved having that type of connection with fans. We also want to give fans across the globe the unique opportunity to once again experience the legend who continues to be a pivotal force in Rock ‘n’ Roll music and ensure that people in every city, in every type of venue, have a chance to witness what we truly believe is the future of live entertainment.”

This won’t be all since a Roy Orbison hologram residency is also being planned for 2019 and will be set at Branson, Missouri’s Andy Williams Moon River Theatre. This will be the first residency of its kind in the world.
