Unlimited Love is the first studio album that Red Hot Chili Peppers shared with their fans in six years and it was certainly worth the wait. This record soared to No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart following its release, becoming the band’s first album in 16 years to reach the top spot.

Unlimited Love hit No. 1 with 97,500 equivalent album units earned during its first week on the chart, including 82,500 album sales, 14,500 SEA units (equaling to 18.96 million on-demand official streams), and additional 500 TEA units. It marks the largest week for a rock album in over a year since the release of Paul McCartney’s McCartney III.

Unlimited Love is RHCP’s first album to reach No. 1 in the U.S. since Stadium Arcadium in 2006. I’m with You from 2011 and The Getaway from 2006 both peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard 200, but they managed to reach No. 1 in several other countries.

Unlimited Love marks the band’s twelfth studio album and they’re promoting it with Red Hot Chili Peppers 2022 Global Stadium Tour, which kicked off in late March. “Black Summer” was released as the album’s first single in February, and it was followed by “These Are the Ways” in March.
