Homme has confessed that the band’s 2018 tour left him in desperate need of a break. Since then, he has been working on soundtrack albums and has come to the conclusion that touring for two years is not something he is interested in doing again.

“After the last Queens tour, I needed to take a break,” Homme told the Los Angeles Times. “I don’t think that style of putting out 10 more songs and touring for two years, I could ever do again like that.”

He also revealed that he is not worried about losing fans or cutting down on promotion. He is not interested in “getting any bigger”, instead of focusing on his marriage with Brody Dalle and his three children.

“In terms of notoriety, I really have no interest in getting any bigger,” he said. “And if it were a little smaller, I’d probably be fine with that because there’s nothing down that road — unless it allows me to pull musicians from a farther world to do this.”

Queens of the Stone Age have no upcoming tour plans.
